@workman Great to hear. Hopefully you were given a copy of the orange and blue book. Read them both, especially the orange book, it's full of really good stuff.
Chris.
Yes, it's being sent to me as access is restricted due to covid. The meeting was through an app called zoom it really lightened the load on my shoulders.
I remember that feeling after my first GA meeting now I get a very calm feeling after the meeting that lasts for a while. Will be interesting to see if the meetings have an effect on your anxiety. I'm a long term sufferer during my worst faze of gambling I would say to myself that I had to gamble to cope with it but since quitting and going to GA I have very rare episodes of acute anxiety and it is anxiety appropriate to a situation ( illness etc). Anxiety is normal otherwise we would do stupid things all the time....even more stupid than gambling all our money !! What's not normal is that constant state of fight or flight which is very debilitating . My hope for you is that over the weeks through your recover that your anxiety starts to settle like mine.
That's good. If you wanted a copy early, or for anyone to get an idea of what the GA principles are all about, go onto the GA website, into media and then literature, you can download the two books, Towards the first 90 days, also known as the blue book, and Questions and answers, aka The orange book.
