I had never had a problem gambling until this month, i have lost £1000 in the last 4 weeks and i am not doing it anymore, i have just blocked the 2 sites i use to bet with.

I dont know what happend up until then i had not lost more then £50 in one week but for some reason i couldnt let the losses from this month go and they just got bigger and bigger until i finally realised its not going to get any better

Just wondering how you move on from a big loss though? £1000 is a lot to me, 3 weeks wages, i have just finished my studies.

I am hoping that by blocking the sites that will be the end of it and i can learn to start fresh and keep busy elsewhere, but is it as easy as that? Any advice?

Hi, this is my first day on this site so im not sure about giving advice! I think speaking to someone like a counsellor would be helpful. the change in your gambling may be a temporary thing or it could be a deeper issue so its best seek some form of help just to keep on top of it. I wish you the best!

Hi haven't used this site in a while. I am re starting a recovery programme and have got to a point where I darent gamble any more. I have used step change to try to sort out my debts and they are fantastic. That said I have still gambled with what little I have left at the end of the month. I am therefore back on this site for inspiration and determination to hold onto what little money I have left not to mention my sanity!
