I googled "is there a bank that stops online gambling" and some threads popped up about a bank called citibank, the posts were from this site but dated 2009. I'm just off the phone to citibank but the only way to open an account is to go directly in to one of their banks with are only located in London which ain't ideal as it's 7.37 pm and I live in Scotland. Is there any other banks out there that provide this service?
Look for an instant saver account, cashcard only, no overdraft, no visa and no direct debits. Offered by all banks.

All my payments are direct debits which so this wouldn't work unfortunately.
Hi Emonster, welcome to the forum 🙂
I also suggested a downgraded account on your other thread but this has made me wonder, do you know that you can get blocking software for your devices?
There are different ones for different systems (K9 is free but NetNanny, Gamblock, Betfilter are other ones I have heard of) & the helpline should be able to guide you to the right one for what you use. Breaking your gambling (Time-Money-Location, remove one & you cannot gamble) triangle only helps to a point. What you need to be working on is not wanting to gamble and this will need a lot of soul searching & some outside support.

I had a citibank current account and it did block online gambling transactions. They closed my account last year though as they no longer want average current account holders (want large international transactions etc not just direct debits for monthly bills). I now have a normal current account with the Halifax for direct debits but I cut up and threw away the debit card. If I need cash I ask the other half and transfer the money over to her account. I also have an AMEX credit card that I use for petrol, supermarket shopping etc as you can't use AMEX credit cards for online gambling or getting cash from an ATM. I still manage to gamble though and am about to try CBT therapy. Good luck!
One tip you can use is to report your card lost when the new one arrives get someone to scratch of the last 3 digits on the back then you can't use for online transactions. Might be a bit inconvenient but you can always ask the person who scratches the number off to remember it in case you do need to make online purchase.
As others said the blocks only buy you time if you don't look deeper and get done proper help you will find your way round any blocks if you really want to.
