Thanks Mixer. As always I enjoyed reading the weekly roll call. Interesting and informative with some humour thrown in.

Hope you are at peace with the world and enjoying your gamble free life. Wishing you a good week...stephen

Surprise surprise I've let myself down again I found a online sports betting firm which I had a bet and lost but not that much but once again I'm back to zero and have that horrible failure feeling inside me again. Sorry again everyone I'm off to hide myself from the world

Hey Christer don’t beat yourself up about it like you said you are back to 0 but you are still on the forum and still want to stop. Self exclude from that site and take it one day at a time. I’ve recently done exact same thing.a few weeks down line I’m feeling much better you will too

Agreed, Godoicul, we mustn't hide but get straight back in the GF saddle. Kudos to you Christer for being honest and upfront.

Yes, be mighty P***ed off with yourself, that's good, but then balance that with your remedy. What did you miss, what gaps allowed you to gamble? Well, it's clear here. You've got to get the software that ensures you can't register with any online gambling firm. Now's the time!

We're with you Christer. Your honesty shows the integrity you have.

We are with you all the way, my friend.

Thanks for the mention in the update. Great to have reached over 100 days. Checking in safely with 108 days . I’ve worked out without any further gambling debt, I could be debt free by December 2020. This is my long term goal and I’ll only get there by saying no to gambling each and every day until all my debts are paid and I’ve undone the financial damage so to speak. Feels like any other life plans like saving up for a house etc have to be on hold until all my gambling money problems are sorted. It’s three years away ... but I can do it. I’m here for the long haul .

Boxingdayresh - Excellent post. Targets are always more manageale when we have meaningful targets and you've found a meaningful long term one - to clear your debts in full. Whilst doing so, keep trying to reduce interest payments as much as possible; a bit of planning now can save you £££ over the next three years. It's worth taking a look at this page that may well give you food for though - check out the links on managing and prioritising your debts.

Slotfool - Great to read; I hope you're having a good month. Ok, it's January, it's cold and the nights are long, but it's still a month of life to be enjoyed!

I do take your point, Christer. Sometimes, the blocking software has unintended consequences; but it's always worth a try. And, let's face it, it has to be applied to all of our devices, and our snealy gambling minds can always find another device.

In which case, I would take another track. Pass your cards, and all means to withdraw money, to a trusted partner or friend. Then you couldn't gamble even if you wanted to. Make sure you haven't sneakily written your card details down beforehand. Remeber, we are gamblers, we are sneaky and we must 'out-sneak' ourselves - always be one step ahead of the gambling devil that's always hovering around. Keep going 🙂

Thanks Mixer for the advice ... I’m quite into Mr Lewis and his money saving ideas. I actually make quite a habit out of saving money ... switching bank accounts, energy providers etc. In the past few months, I’ve made £250 switching friends utility bills through recommend a friend. I made £150 switching my bank account etc. All my credit cards are on interest free periods and my loan is a low apr. So ... even though I’ve been careless in accruing so much debt (largely attributed to years of gambling) I’ve always been careful and never missed any payments or gone down the route of payday loans etc. I just need to ensure that I stay gamble free now and see through my long term aim of being debt free !!
