Gamble free since March 2021. Moved into a house with family (happiest I have ever been) and had first relapse over last couple of days. It's weird because I thought I would be able to manage it, so found a website that didn't do gamstop and deposited, very soon that was down £1000 all within a day. When I start betting its as if I need there to be nothing more to bet with. I have no control setting limits and feel the need to always reach £0 both in my accounts and bank accounts. Looking to see if anyone has any ezpierenceof capital one blocking gambling deposits as gamcare doesn't cover enough sites?

Day 1 again....

Hi there. Sorry to hear about relapse I always seem to relapse when I think I am missing out and have this amazing new strategy that cannot fail 😙

I must have tried hundreds of ways to succeed but we all know where that ends up all I can say is make sure that you have triple lock verification ie the bank your closet family and your partner all requested payments have to go through all 3 first

It saves a lot of heart ache

  Best

I can so relate to that drive towards 0.  Win or lose it all goes back in either the same day or within a day or two.  I experience it like financial self harm.

I too have consistently got around my own blocks and ways of limiting including those non gamstop sites you mention.  I agree that a multi strategy is needed so when one defence fails, another is there.  At the moment, my one remaining card is being supervised and I have a preloaded weekly card for shopping and petrol.

I am still shocked at my own behaviour over the last 4 years.  So much financial damage done.  I hope that you recover from this relapse and get back to that more content life you were building.

Sorry to hear about your relapse, I’m exactly the same, always starts with a big win and a withdrawal but can never just walk away. 24 hours later it will be another deposit and so it goes on, to like you say there is nothing left to gamble and by the end the stakes are ridiculous.

i was 2 years gamble free last November then relapsed and now on 6 weeks gamble free and starting to rebuild.

im not sure i can handle having to go through this again, at 38 years old I feel like I should be in a much better place then I am and its the gambling holding me back.

One day at a time, remember time moves so quickly if you can focus on something more positive like a diy project or get yourself busy with your job. Before you know it your be a year down the road and back to your happy place, the financial side of it will sort its self out, it always does.

stay strong and don’t blame yourself, don’t be too hard on yourself, blame the companies that prey on people like us even when we are doing everything we can to escape them.

I use the "Block Site" browser extension to block sites. It is free of charge. But it only blocks sites that I have manually blacklisted.
However, the Gamban application seems to be more powerful. Interesting option to ponder, thanks.
