Self exclude from everywhere!

Online you can use: https://www.gamstop.co.uk/ and make sure you choose the 5 year option.

Hi, it’s tough isn’t it, I have had so many dark days when I have lost thousands, panic attacks, anxiety, crying.  I found that you have to draw a line under the lost money, you will never get it back.  Set a savings plan.  I have a debt repayments and savings plan, little gains mean so much.  It helps you to see a future.  I sleep so much better by accepting only I can make a difference to my life by paying off my debts and saving.    Leave the lost cash behind, I know it’s tough I have lost £30k.

Hi Kim.

Well done for posting on the Forum to look for support with this. You have taken a great step forward in your recovery.

I am sorry to hear how you are feeling. Like unfurla mentioned Gamstop would be a great way to block your access to online gambling. You might also want to look at some blocking software like GamBan or BetBlocker.

It sounds like things are tough for you right now. Our advisers are here 24/7 and can support you through this. You can contact them on our Livechat or HelpLine on 0808 8020 133.

Take care and keep posting,

Hiya kim

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and how much this has impacted on you, looking at the post above they've gave you gamban ect so I was just going to explain to you how my loss in April still effects me to this day as I can't get over it but taking one day at a time I can learn to live with it, even although I've still got that feeling at the pit of my stomach known what I lost that day in the space of 1hr totalling nearly  £8000 leaving myself and family in severe financial difficulties. This was bad as I had used PayPal and never had anywhere near £8000 therefore leaving not me but my partner in thousands of debt as it was her PayPal I used. Each day I awaken I still have that feeling off shame it's horrible but at the same time it's stopping me from ever wanting to gamble again, don't get me wrong we had to phone PayPal and get a payment plan but I don't ever want to forget as I left my family in so much debt we had to use a church food bank twice just to feed my kids. But I felt a little bit better when I got the money bit sorted as it took the stress away enough for me to see away out. I know  £2000 is a lot off money just try and sort it with bank ect, and once it's sorted you won't be over the loss but you'll have a way off dealing with it, plus put all your blocks in place in case you have a relapse as you can never say never then take it one day at a time going gamble free as you'll get their, and also put the  £2000 down to a loss as it's in the past and gone nothing you can do to get that back But look to the future giving them no more off your money as there's only one winner I hope this helps

If you gamble again that 2000 is going to be much more. Period. I lost over 2000 pounds my last relapse. Ive now handed over my finances. I know it hurts. We always sulk over what we have lost and not realize what we would lose if we continued gambling! That is because its not happened yet, all we know is what we have lost. If we gambled again we wouldnt lose much more, right? WRONG! That number is going to inevitably grow to the point when we suddenly think: «Now ive lost 5000 pounds. I wish it was 2000 now». Tell me im wrong. Im not. Now lets say you gamble and win back 2000. What do you do then? You think right now that you would take it back and take it easy going on gambling. WRONG. That win will make you go insane and you would then go on a rampage betting like crazy because you were down 2000 pounds and now you are even or maybe even worse. You won more than 2000 so now youre gambling with the «casinos» money. If you lose these «winnings» you go on a chase for money which wasnt yours in the first place. Complete madness! Gambling is and has always been a huge scam.
