Delighted to read another fantastic call to arms from our Rt Hon Chairman KP!

And welcome to the challenge SC and Rhoda! Fantastic ladies!

Regarding hard substances in your post KP, I was always taught diamond was the hardest.

However, I've found one harder than that.

KryPtonite! (See what I did there KP 🙂 )

WCAWW.

Athena, may we all welcome you to the challenge. Absolutely fantastic!!!

We are all going to support each other like you won't believe. Great to have you on board. It's entirely up to you, truly, but would you like to amend your profile to show when you last gambled? We can all see the "Days not Gambled' and share your experience as the gambling-free days increase!

WCAWW!

Bal always up for a challenge.

My gambling became addictive to the point of destruction over the last few years. FOBT was my main vice.

2015 was a bad year in the beginning as my addiction truly took hold of me. In my darkest hours I wanted to stop, to be found out, to be normal. To get rid of this weight that was dragging me down. Suicide was an option. I stood by the railway tracks but couldnt do it.

In April 2015 it finally happened and my gambling sins were uncovered.

The trapdoor opened and i was found out and although the gambling weight was lifted it was replaced by guilt, pity, self loathing, hatred and anger at what I had done and what it had made me.

Recovery began to take shape.

Gamcare counselling helped greatly allowing me to understand things a little better. Giving up all access to cash and cards for 6 months was a massive help. On the occassions I was given cash I provided receipts and change.

2016 - recovery must continue and each day I will make sure the barriers are high and the triangle is broken.

I will do everything in my power to never return to those dark days.

Today I am 611 days gamble free and looking forward to this challenge and 2017 gamble free.

Best wishes x

Bal, thank you for your moving post and for reminding us all this truly is one day at a time, forever. Your 611 days and counting is testament to your character, finding the support and taking out those practical steps to ensure the triangle is always broken. You are an inspiration for what can be achieved, and how we have to got to keep focused as we choose life over misery. A very warm welcome to our group, and the 100 day challenge!

Dean0 - delighted to welcome you aboard sir! Since I've been here, which isn't long, the support you have given fellow gamblers on this forum and chat has been amazing. You care Dean0 and it shows and a fantastic new addition to a group of really terrific people, I have to say! And welcome to the 100 day challenge. I sense you're really up for this.

Deano and Bal have already completed...are we all starting from where we are...or 100 days from a specific start date? I'm confused

Hi Rhoda, good point and this is the fun bit.

Everyone in the group needs to do 100 MORE days, from today. If anyone in the group buckles, then we reset the group count to 0.

Our group count, today, is 0. If none of us gamble tomorrow, then it goes to 1. Can we ALL get to 100?

P.S. Entirely your choice Rhoda, but you're welcome to change your profile and enter the date you last gambled. Then the days you haven't gambled will count up; you'll find it a huge boost to you 🙂 !

*** THE 100 DAY CHALLENGE BEGINS TODAY! *** DAILY UPDATE - 14th Dec 2016

Can EVERYONE in our challenge group not gamble for a FURTHER 100 days?

WE START TODAY! So, our total number of days tomorrow, if no-one gambles today, is 1.

Can we ALL get to 100? If any one of us buckles, it goes down to 0. (If you, do just be honest - you'll always retain our respect and support!)

KP, Rhoda, Change, SC, Mixer, Athena, Deeeeeeannn0000, Bal - Let's go for it! P.S. Keep in regular touch, we are all here to support each other 🙂

I'm really up for this... with accountability to the others in the group it should give me another bit of impetus to stay focused during a tricky period!
