You are not a failure.Your mind has been trained to criticize everything about you.It might be a new year but a fresh start can begin anytime.Instead of completely trying to fight this urge, monitor yourself and give yourself targets. You can stop gambling for a day, week, month and reward yourself for getting that far.It will take a lot to understand yourself but if you cannot handle your finances, confide in someone to help you with that,Happy New Year. You can do this.

Hi

The recovery program is and was about healing my pains.

The gambling and obsessions were a form of escape in my fears.

None of us are were stupid we are just emotionally vulnerable.

Calling our self names is not helping our self.

Each time I went back gambling I got to understand what my last emotional trigger was.

For me my emotional triggers were pains fears frustrations loneliness and boredom.

You had 7 days gambling free when you were not hurting your self.

What led up to your last bet.

You had a relapse that is all.

Clean time can not be lost.

Get back to meetings, make calls when you are vulnerable.

Learn to be kind respectful of your self.

It took me along time to get what recovery was baout.

Do not stay focused on what you can not do.

Stay focused on what you can do.

You know there has to be some tough love in this.  You control your mind ultimately.  The idea of that you can not hold on to any money is created by you and can also be stoped by you but you have to decide to do it. I have been where you are. It is not easy when you bran yourself as a failure but you need to unbrand that and brand yourself into something else. You ar here. what is the worst thing that can happen if you decide to not use that emergency money for anything else than paying your bills? Your bills will be payed right? See this I cant do it is just a cry for help and everyone here feels for you bit that decision is yours and yours alone to make.

Decide to change and you will change. It is as hard or easy as urning left or right. Think about the outcomes.

Think about the outcomes. Not on how bad you feel.

Now get up. Dust of and walk on!

I wish you the best really.

Best

You can do it but this is part of the process I guess. Im gamble free for a month now but have relapsed previously time and time again. These slips lead us to a path of destruction until finally the penny dropped with me just a little bet, just the one will never work for me. I can never do it again. I was at the point of dispair when that point arrises that is the point we stop. Its took years and im still early days. But i was so livid with myself its whats kept me goinf

Hi mate don't be angry at yourself I have relapsed in the last after 2 days gambling free,6 days gambling free,2 weeks gambling free,1 month gambling free and the only thing that helped me to stop gambling forever was THAT I STOPPED COUNTING DAYS SINCE DAY 1

NEVER EVER COUNT YOUR DAYS FREE OF GAMBLING ORHERWISE YOU WILL ALWAYS START AGAIN AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIFE

Trust me all you have to do is just forget about gambling completely stop thinking about it all day every day like it didn't existed !!!!

It'd actually very easy thing to do

Speaking of my own 20 years gambling experience lost around 900 grand all togerher
