How not to be a football millionaire - Keith Gillespie
How not to be a professional footballer - Paul Merson

While reading these two books, it really hits home about the evil of gambling, it doesn't matter how much money you have, these two earned millions of pounds and they both lost pretty much all of it to gambling. I enjoyed Keith's book in particular, he admitted to gambling on his own games and being deflated when his team scored a goal because he had them down to win 4-1 and they scored a last minute goal to win 5-1, which cost him thousands of pounds.

Great books to read.

Yeah, Gillespie was a big idol of mine when he played in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup at start of the 1990's. He then joined United, and I followed his career closely ever since, especially having watched him play for Northern Ireland many, many times. I actually told my parents about this very book only last weekend. Great post; his book is definitely worth a read...!
