Hi guys 13 days free gambling today and feel great and like a weights been lifted off my shoulders. Have noticed a lot more money in my account then what I normally have and shows how crazy my spending habit was towards gambling. Have had an odd think of gambling but paydays this Friday so hopefully I can pay off what I can so that I don’t have extra money lying around to spend on it!

Thanks Leeds, feel so much better and fitter especially being in the gym everyday and taking my mind off gambling, can afford to get the small things I need to do and not stress out about money, tomorrow will be the test but my mind feels a lot more stronger to not do anything silly.

17 days free today and feel such a happier person, I used to be quite insecure around my girlfriends past relationships and now I feel like I’ve gotten over it today and don’t even care! It’s crazy how gambling can cause depression and destruct other things around you. Now all I want to do is be the best guy for my gf and Feel a lot more positive to doing things with her then thinking did that team win or did that horse win and just enjoy the time with her and make her as happy as possible! Embrace the change, life gets better!

3 weeks gambling free and did some holiday shopping yesterday, had a great nights sleep thinking I didn’t gamble over the weekend and lose any money on something that would was a waste. Setting myself small goals and will update once I’ve hit a month!

Finally hit the month mark and can’t believe how fast it’s gone! Got money left over even though my expenditures have been a lot higher this month and feel great I haven’t spent any money towards gambling. Feel like training more in the gym and a bit more productive at work. What a different gambling free makes. Next target is 2 months and I’m going to own it!

Well done stopping123. A month is a great achievement. If you keep it up things will only get better. Take care, Myles

41 days free feel great I haven’t gambled, broke up with a long term gf a couple of days ago and have serious urges to play roulette but have all the relevant stops in place. Just don’t wanna make myself even more unhappy as I am at the moment. Staying strong hopefully will get better.

hi stopping, congratulations on 41 days massive achievement. stay strong mate and dont get in the mind set that just because you are a bit down gambling will instantly make you happy as it is 99% going to make you feel a lot worse. Ive been in that state of mind myself and its like a self destruct mechanism as you stop caring about the consequences.

keep strong - your blocks youve put in will keep you safe , youve taken the power back these 41 days and you need to keep it.

best of luck.

Have relapsed pretty badly after the breakup with my girlfriend, won £200 last week in bookies and casino and then today have lost £400 so overall £200 but disappointed to have gambled and now not looking forward to my holiday as much on Wednesday because I feel like I have to be cautious on what I spend and just feel like a let down. Have to start from day one tomorrow but luckily there isn’t anything gambling related in Florida that I know off so will make it a bit easier for me and my mind will be occupied positively. Guys how do I get over this I really need help and just suffering from depression, I’m 25 and wanted to be in a position to put a deposit down for a house but no where near that.

sorry to hear that mate, dont beat yourself up about the relapse especially as youve been through some tough times lately. You just need to forget the money - its gone so dont chase it, and treat your relapse as a lesson to underline why you need to stop and why you came on here in the first place. As for the holiday, f****** right you look forward to it and enjoy it. You can relax have time to think and sort yourself out , treat it as a line in the sand (white sand by a blue sea), and when you come back relaxed and refreshed its a fresh start and you will always look back on your holiday in florida as the time when you had a ball and your life changed and you came back a new person with a new gamble free beginning.

Thanks mate really appreciate the kind words, lost another £200 today, but have work and then off to Florida so won’t need to go bookies, have all the stops in place for online it’s just the bookies and casino which isn’t helping. Really in a bad state with my ex considering I thought I would get married to her, she was from a wealthy background whereas I wasn’t, I wanted everything for me and her, she really wanted me to have the money for a house so that we could move in but have a couple of grand in my account left so never could even think of that being a possibility . lost money over the weekend thinking I could make some serious cash and try and prove her wrong but boy was I wrong and lost in total £600 this weekend, had a couple of drinks to make me feel better, sort of getting over the worst with my girlfriend, just hope I can stay gambling free and have all the things I want in life for the future girl. I’m not a bad person, probably one of the kindest out there and just don’t know how I can stop this. It’s ruined my life over the past 7 years. Just need to think of a fresh start and try and rebuild everything. Need to somehow manage my salary in a better way.

use your holiday as your fresh start, you have to disconnect your relationship issues from your gambling issues if you can as its a vicious circle as you gamble to try and make things better but it makes things worse. Get to your holiday without gambling, avoid it on holiday and when you get back youve instantly got a decent GF period to then build on. Then watch the days mount up You got to 41 days+ before your relapse and you can do that again, and more.
