Well here I am 2 months down the line or 61 days. Still can’t believe I’ve come this far. Not gonna lie it’s been hard with lots of temptations. I’ve got all the blocks on my phone and cut up my bank card and changed all my transactions to our current account. Also linked my PayPal to that as so many of my accounts were deposited through that. I’ve also self excluded from all sites that I regularly played on. Surprised over the past few days have had some emails with free spins from some of these sites but deleted these straight away.
i feel so much more alive, sleeping better and generally more productive in everything. Not wanting to get my alone time and log on and lose stupid amounts of money everyday. I am applying myself so much more at work and getting things done everyday.Â
I was seriously addicted to online slots especially certain games. Would never walk into a bookies or casino. Even managed a social bingo night with some friends during my time and thankfully was not tempted by any of the many slot machines they have in these establishments now. Mine was always behind closed doors.
Just took a look back at my bank statements the past couple of years and it’s frightening to see what I lost and how I was juggling finances to cover this. Also ashamed to say over the years sold such much jewellery and other items to gamble with and cover losses.
Still can’t believe how many gambling adverts that there are out there. Really think this needs to be banned and a major overhaul of all firms to stop people getting into addiction.Â
Hopefully I’ll make it to another 2 months and also go into the New Year feeling less stressed and enjoy more family time.
Stay strong everyone we can and will do this and come out the other end.
2 months is huge and you should be super proud. I’m so glad you are seeing the benefits. Sleeping better, eating better, doing well at work. It’s amazing how quickly life becomes so good. To anyone who reads this. 2 months will fly by, the debts will still be there, but life will be better than you can ever imagine. In only 2 months!Â
