I told one of my eldest sisters today about the gambling. As I asked her what the 111 would be about. And then she asked what 111 was to me, and I told her like Gamblers site when people giving up. So her words... She use to work at WH and her words were "it's a mugs game the only person getting rich would be the bookies" she said she was proud of me taking the steps to stop gambling. And she had seen the men in the bookies on how the addiction destroys people. She also said our Dad was a bookies runner in the 50s. Then she said, it's not in our blood. The harmless playing cards for pennies were just that harmless. I beg to differ now on reflection. But they were fun times. I was a queen at cribbage.
Have a good Sunday.
(thankfully that wind has calmed down last night took ages to sleep).
Goodnight.

Hi guys
My kind of Sunday, very quite, chilled and little stress (due to not gambling) hope your Sunday was as good.
Shaun
Hi guys
A very good point ChaisingRainbows aka Bella makes and one I come back to time to time curtesy of Allen Carr.
We ex-gamblers were addicted to gambling, bottom line. We had an addiction and the gambling industry were playing on our addiction by putting up glossy pics in bookies windows and colourful ads on TV. We must never lose sight of the fact that all the gambling industry is interested in is using our addiction to participate in their activities, knowing full well the odds are stacked in their favour, they are the real winners, always.
Keep fighting guys.
Shaun
Another day gamble free, well done guys and keep going, gambling is becoming an increasing distance memory.

Happy 156 GF Shaun, yes a distance memory like a bad nightmare. Locked away in a box.
Have a great evening.

Hi guys
So, we carry on with our journey and all is well, wishing all that are on this journey a great day.
Just caught the news, this April new legislation coming into force to stop gambling firms from over advertising, no longer at halftime at football will we see adverts on special offers on results or next goal scorers.
Take care.

Great to hear legislations are being put in place. Does that also include bingo sites advertise in breaks for soap operas I hope?
Chat tomorrow..

Hi guys
Here we are with another weekend ahead of us. Just remain positive and if you get swayed to gamble, just remember all the gamble free days you are going to throw away, the money gone and the the sickening zombie like feeling after the inevitable loss.
Take care.
Shaun
Happy 160th GF!!
Just curious but have you ever been to a meeting?
Gamcare not SW.
Bella xx
Hi guys
160 days gamble free, all good, jar quite full of one pounds. Thanks everyone for your support.
No Bella, never been to a GA or Gamcare meeting, I have enough problems myself, never mind listening to other people’s problems, lol.
Shaun
Congratulations Shaun on being gamble free for 160 days. Excellent progress on your wonderful adventure.
The life and times of compulsive gambler Shaun are now relegated to history. He was a good man in many ways but sadly lacking in others.
On the 9th September 2018 Gamble Free Shaun was born. A noble man of courage, integrity and honour who wanted to live a more meaningful life surrounded by his lovely wife and daughters.
I send you a Sapphire, which is the birthstone for September 9th. It symbolises purity and wisdom.
Take good care of yourself....Stephen

Yes I to have enough going on to hear people's problems.
£160.00 in your jar.. Every pound makes you richer than you was 160 days ago!
Have a fabulous weekend.
Keep smiling.

***Aww Stephen.. I you need to write a book.
Hi guys
Another week starts and we are full of energy and determination. We have had enough of walking around in a zombie state, enough of being conned, enough of making other people rich and enough of being taken for mugs.
Lovely words Stephen, born 200 years too late, you have made an inspiring scholar back then and people would be talking about you even today.
Shaun
Affected by gambling?
