Hi guys

Yes Bella, it’s staggering, all gamblers are struggling while the bosses of these firms live in affluent areas and probably sending their kids to private schools.

However, now they can do all that without our money, no thanks gambling but we are keeping our money in our pockets.

Shaun

That's true Shaun,
My bank account is looking great, have £136 in the Gamcare pot and a few k in the other. It's fabulous.
Keep smiling.

Hope its okay I reply Shaun..

Hello Sweetheart
The book is like my bible its brilliant, can also get a audio version.

The Easy Way to Stop Gambling: Take Control of Your Life by Allen Carr Easyway Series.

Website called Books 2 Door.. Its cheapest on that site as Amazon is expensive.

I'd also recommend Gamstop website which will put a 5 yr ban online gambling and also if he goes in the bookies he needs to ban himself in the shops to.

Ring Gamcare helpline. And if you search NHS gambling. There is a retreat place.. Free. Called Gordon Moody Association and can self refer for help there to.

Also on this site is a friends and family forum you could add a post and they may help further.

Good luck.
Bella xx

Hola Bella,

Hope your having a nice weekend and away time from the phone screen 🙂

The weather here is cold and windy, much like Manchester everyday haha. The only difference is the accents.

Well done on losing 3lbs. What’s the goal?

CJ.

Happy 182th day Shaun, it's 6 months today! You have done amazing. So proud of you. Still saving your £1s? I keep thinking should I spend it. Then decide nope its a digital abacas for me. It would feel like treasure if it was coins.

I am now addicted to watching netflix episodes. Just finished watching season one. A movie also. Think I best get to bed.

Goodnight.
Stand tall and proud today!
Bella xx

Hi guys

Thanks for replying Bella, pretty much which I would have wrote. The only things I would add Lfcforever is to take one day at a time and start a recovery diary, I wish him well - great name by the way.

Never noticed the 6 months Bella, just a number, could spoil it all in one go by going out and gambling, but I won’t!

Hi guys

Not long until the £2 spin on the FOBT’s kicks in, lots of bookies are worried as to how gamblers changing habits will effect them. Hopefully a lot will close, I know some are saying it will effect jobs but it’s these machines that created the jobs in the first place. I mean look at our high streets, they are littered with them, there are 7 W****** H**** within 4-5 streets in Birmingham city centre.

Hi guys

Hope all is well.

Nobody makes us gamble, we are fully in control of that, we take responsibility for gambling. The same way, when we chose not to gamble then it’s only right that we get the rewards also, a clearer mind and more money in our pockets.

Hi Bella

I guess you are just chilling and taking time out, why not you deserve it, speak soon.

Shaun

Hi Shaun,

Don't worry I am not gambling. Far from it, I decided to have time away from internet, including all social media and this site, whatsapp including.

I am having relaxing time just chilling out, reading and cleaning.

Doing well at SW its 7.5lb loss 5 weeks.

I have your diary on subscription so I know how you are doing as I get it via email.

Hope you are doing good?

Chat soon.
Bella xx

Hi Bella

Never thought for one minute you are gambling, you are too strong now, besides lots of people like myself look up to you for inspiration.

Well done on weight loss, that’s half a stone, SW is great that way as you lose weight nice and slow without being on a restricted diet.

Keep going you are doing great.

Hi mate,

Good post and not far away now. In our past selves this couldn’t of been a better thing and may of kept us from the downward spiral we was on with them machines. But not now whether there is a limit or not it doesn’t matter as we won’t be playing those silly things anyway. But am very glad to see this coming in to effect as those vulnerable and who are hooked on the machines it will have a big impact. In my town five bookmakers have closed in the last few months leading up to this and one where my friend lives the owner sold the business bringing his five store across Lancashire down to two. It just shows how much they relied on these machines to keep the stores open and profits coming in. They should never been allowed and to be honest I can’t say i feel that bad about the stores closing and people who will be out of a cashier job. They should of never opened in the first place and only did as they was allowed to be turned in to mini casinos. The staff use to watch me waste 1000’s and never asked if I was okay or tried to have a word with me, even when I was barred they just let me play. It’s my fault and take full responsibility but that’s what they are trained to do.

Glad your well mate and hope your having a good week.
