DAY 2 GF
For the first time in 8 years I have felt very comfident that I am going to beat my gambling problem. Today I went to the bank with some cash, walked past 4/5 bookies and didnt go into any of them to place a bet. I found it very hard walking past these shops and not going in them but when i reached the bank i felt i had taken such a massive step even though i am on day 2. I am feeling great about this and for the first time I have a little bit of money in my account and i am stopping myself from placing a bet. I just dont want the urges to come back worse and not be able to control it and end up at step 1 again. I still get slight urges throughout the day but being able to post on these forums and get responses from others that are going through the same as me is really helping me with my progression which i previously have found so hard to achieve.
Well done Tom great work. I've recently relapsed so maybe not in the best position to give advice but I found the first 30 days GF easy. Once everything had settled down that's when I slipped up, it was so unexpected cause I was off guard. Stay focused, you'll smash it! Here's to a better life!

Hello TomS
Welcome to the forum congratulations on day two of being gamble free. There is self-exclusion from betting shops that you can put in place that can help you to continue. Self –Exclusion is where you can ask a gambling operator to exclude you from gambling with them for a set time from six months to five years. There is also the Multi operator schemes where you can self-exclude from more than one betting shop within a local radius. Please see further information here http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/self-exclusion
It’s good to hear that using the forum is helping you in making changes and I can see from what you say you are still having slight urges throughout the day it can help to build in some new interest this can help to occupy your time and can keep you focused on other things. Please see below for some information and ideas on making some other changes.
