Hi all,

As many of you knows we have a 2015 challenge running on Overcoming gambling section, but i was thinking to open new 90 day thread for ones who wants to join. Some might be a little uncomfortable with crowds, some just maybe wants to give a go to 90 days first so don't feel as pressured to committing checking in for the whole year...i did copy and paste this headline from our amazing troop Dave who did run this challenge 2yrs ago. I know for myself how much it helped me and if even one more soul can be encouraged to put stop to self destruction, please be my guest.

So i have decided to start a thread/challenge that will last for 90 days starting Friday 24th july and ending on Saturday 24th october. It is 13 weeks challenge which takes us to 91 days but since it's Saturday we can have a celebration ☺️

The thread is open to all wether its your day 1 or day 1000. New users can get off to that perfect start, people who have been here a little while can help consolidate what they have already achieved and the long time legends of the forum can use this as a way of keeping they're focus.

Im not gonna be to strict with anyone, i will keep the registration open for the entire thread as even if you start a month in, completing 60 days is still a massive achievement. Also i wont remove any names unless asked to do so as i dont want to discourage anyone, if you do slip and wish to continue i can add your new start date in brackets (same as if you start the thread late)... I am not gonna count days...a name will have to do lol...as we know, we are all just one bet away from destruction...but knowing we can run 90 days might just open us the gate to new found determination and belief to keep moving on.

There will be a check in every friday where you can state your gamble free for another week, first check in being friday 24th july. Although if fridays doesnt suit just say and we can change the check in date or each have a different check in day, aslong as your checking in each week then you'll be helping yourself and others move closer to that 90 day target.

As you can tell im keeping it quite relaxed as i feel aslong as were all moving towards the same goal its not neccessary to have too many "rules". Its all about helping yourself get free of this addiction and with that you'll be helping others which again helps yourselves.

Right enough of my ramblings, if you do wish to sign up just reply to this thread and i will add your name to the list below. If you have any questions or suggestions post away either here or i do have my own diary also.

Good luck to everyone and i cant wait to start this journey.

Sandra

Hello troops, only over an hour passed and 3 names already lined up..how does it feel? ...i feel new born (that's the result of long run and good shower lol)!!! There is no 1 in a team that's for sure and i think something really really switched on in this skull...me, i will be fine, but now i have this amazing responsibility to support and be there for soldiers on here...collecting stars and smashing through these 90 days...

What can i say - welcome aboard Joan, Balvaird and Suzanne!!!!
Your names will be added on the list and we can kick start the challenge on Friday..

Anyone is welcome, let's give ourselves some belief and determination in making recovery possible!!!

Hi

Count me in for this please - think it's a great idea. I had thought about joining the 2015 challenge but am only on day 16 so found it to be quite daunting. This feels more achievable at the moment - baby steps and all that 🙂

Hey all...i am taken aback to be honest, in a very good way!!! You're sooo right Tina, baby steps is all what's needed to set yourself off to the brighter future. We are all equal here, this addiction is destroying, but we can arrest it if we really want it!
I want it a lot, and I'm chuffed to have you all alongside me! Let's make it happen...let's stick two fingers up to this horrible disease..let's find our real selves...human beings worth waking up with a smile on their faces and surrounded by peace!

Recovery is possible - golden words by golden ball 😉 (my dear friend Ade, you don't even realise you're part of this already 🙂 )

Right, i shall update the list and once again - welcome aboard my dear friends - SA, Sonic boom, the bear, GT, Tina....each and every one makes a difference 🙂
