Hi all ,
I am 6 days gamble free doesn’t, it really doesn’t feel like a lot but I’m happy with my progress considering I wouldn’t usually be able to go 24hrs without it . Last week was breaking point for me and I realised something had to change to make a better life for me and my partner .
here’s to another day gamble free!
Hi Liv. Hey, don't discount your 6 days and the persistence and energy youve achieved in each of those days. That's superb, especially given you havent been without gambling for 24 hours.
What was it that brought you to breaking point? What strategies have you found helpful in getting through each day. Continue to take each day as it comes, focus on the present. Just for today, I will not gamble 😊.
hi fran ,
loosing a lot of money brought me to breaking point . I have downloaded Gamban and have no access to money at all . My cards have been shredded and my partner has all control of all finances now
thank you I am trying
I went three months without playing slots or roulette on websites
This month I drew myself back in and down £250, so annoyed, I was up after putting £10, but that wasn't enough.
Ended up losing it and chasing a big win, didn't come. I wish there was a way I could just block roulette and slots, but still be able to place some bets on football.
Anyone know if that is possible?
It's all or nothing. I can only talk for myself but even though there were areas of my gambling that showed signs of control like football betting and lottery, I know I had to stop everything or I would eventually go back. Operators will never want you to block the casino, with some you can buy for me, I would just open another account where I could play the casino. Over 44 years I did this time and time again. Once my control had gone and I went over the line there was no way back. One thing I can say from experience is that those small amounts just got bigger and bigger. What started as 5p fruit machines ended with losing more than enough to buy a small village over the last ten years.
I think you need to ask yourself a question. You want to block the casino because you can't control gambling ? Then it's all or nothing ?
Hi Liv
Well done on six days, the first week is the toughest and once you get past 40 days it does get easier. It's a good more to have Gamban in place and you have passed over your money. Has your partner also put Gamban on their devices as well ? Have you signed up to Gamstop and blocked gambling transactions at the bank. I needed as many layers I could to stop and make that first bet as hard as possible to place.
A good thing to work on next is connection. It's so good to talk to people about the addiction or just connect on any level. It's coming out of the shadows and adding accountability. I find the chatrooms on here and online plus in person meetings a real help.
Once connection is going well then it's good to start looking at why you gambled and building a life where there is no room, want or need to escape and use gambling as a solution

I added URL block on my router firewall.
Only keeping the website that I use for placing football bets, luckily that site doesn't have slots that I usually play.
Will see how I react when I get the urge to go back to it. Hoping the block will remind me how corrupt they are and went to the lengths to block access
I do strongly believe there are controls which determine who the betting site wants to win and who they don't.
As far as I'm concerned they can do one. Hopefully can get some money back on the football over time.
Haven't done too bad, but ruined by then going back to roulette and slots
Good luck and I was only talking from my stand point. In terms of the slots, it might be worth thinking if you have any loop holes and see if you can close them off
Hi Liv
