Hi Sandra sorry for being away i have unfortunetly been away for the wrong reasons, I've just posted this on the year long thread and will be lazy and just copy and paste - Hi sorry for being away - I've been gambling like a mad man - feels like 7 months for nothing, it hurts and it was the worst i have ever been - a warning to all - its a progressive problem and it is a problem that none of us deserve and i wish everyone with this condition/illness/problem whatever you call it, i wish that you all kick it and kick it for good. I'm gonna have a break from here, maybe a good or bad choice but this is my choice and I'm going to try some new avenues of help and hope that i find the answer for me, as each of our recoveries our different and our own. I plan on trying councilling for the first time and hope that will help, time will tell. I want to thank everyone for the help and just having this challenge and the site as a whole has been a big help it may have come to a halt but it certainly has helped me and i'll keep striving forward. Best wishes to you all, I'm sure it wont be my last last post but it probably will be for a while. Thanks again.

Just to add thank for the opportunity with this thread it shouldve really helped i know previous challenges have and although i am tempted to continue on i think i wont to take a step back and re evaluate things, as i said above i will take a break but im sure i'll be back i hope the councilling will help - im nervous about that tho i must admit but i need to be honest and say i need help ive been trying to do all this on my own and I cant. Anyway thanks again and i wish you all the best.

Hi Change and Insanity.

Change, well done for bouncing back and giving yourself another chance! It's only a slip...door to recovery are always open..good to have you back...keep winning x

Insanity...once again, slip is a slip..don't close the door to recovery.i know how you feel now, horrible feeling for sure. Do what is right for you, but if this challenge has helped you maybe consider checking in once a week..you are important part of this group..i need you here..you need us to help you too.
Counselling is a good idea...but please please work hard at it. Don't be scared to share plus it gives you a lot of homework to do to find your self better. I had counselling twice in the last two years. It was good to share...what i didn't do is homework...and you need to do it to help yourself to find peace and senerity...aceptance of urself.
You are not on your own. Hand is extended - only you can grab it.

Hugs both...keep making the right choice..you got it in you, believe in urselves

S x

Hi Sandra,

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I'm wondering if I can join the challenge? I think it'll be a great help to me.

Thanks.

Hi Sandra, checking in nice and early this Friday. This week has been tough, working step 4, trying to make a fearless moral and financial inventory of myself. The financial bit is easy, I know how much I have wasted and how many years it will take me to repay back all my debts through honest hard work, it frightens me, but not as much as the moral inventory. It's very hard to come to terms with the person I became. Everything I've run from and buried deep inside has to come to the top now and be faced. Not easy, but I know I must do this to have a real chance x

Hi Casey

Good to see first check in with such an inspiring words. You're right, there is a lot we have to accept and put to rest in this journey so we can move on and find our old selves...with a little hint of a new person... because we change all the time, we never stop growing and learning from our mistakes, finding new ways to deal with life itself.

Keep up good work, sticks and stones might break your bones but if you keep at it - the end result is priceless and you deserve peace and sanity in ur life.

Checking in myself for a week 5...

One day at a time!

Let's get a full house today ☺

I lurve these Friday check ins...Bizarelly whilst the rest of the non shift working world looks forward to today because it's POETS day it usually signals a weekend of drudgery for me! Not now, not when today sees so many of us come together, taking a stand against the evils of our addictions!

Good morning Sandra and fellow abstaineres 🙂

Checking in for week 5 already lol.

Being away from home, (my house was the location every inch of it just about lol) I just don't have any thoughts, desires or interest to gamble my life away.and that is very HDs indeed.

Keep strong, keep determined troops and keep safe.
