Cheletenham Festival, £550 in the wallet, get a bus to a remote bookie I'm not excluded from and in 1 hour I lose the lot in the FOBT machines. My one £25 bet on the horses lost and  I left distraught, my savings were in the bottom of that machine and I had a long cold bus ride home with  thoughts invading my head and excuses to be made. Just like the old days. I excluded to get rid of this misery and still it goes on. The feeking of sitting watching you losing £6.00 per minute over 90 minutes of torment is as low as life gets. I want real help, I'll play for it, just no more pain, lies and suffering.

Mark. 49.

Hay @mark-173 the admin in this group should post some resources you can use and a number for help.

I remember when I couldn't pay for a short journey train ticket because I gambled my weekly wage all away and I know that feeling on the bus on the way back thinking there must be more to life than this!

There is and working towards it by being active on this site and looking for self improvement and support can get you over this horrible part of you're life.

I guess this be the start of you're recovery journey, if you find the site not as helpful I would advise going to a GA meeting which is a physical meeting with like minded people who also want to stop gambling.

Anyways I hope this helps a bit, don't be too hard on yourself

@mark-173 hi Mark. I think we can all say we have been there.  It is soul destroying.  You are most certainly not alone as Dave says.

Have you had a online chat with a Gamcare representative? I did and it was my first step to getting rid of the nightmare or constant gambling.

Learning why we are doing it to ourselves when it hurts was key for me stopping.

It does get better once you reach out for help
