Helicon, I am entitled to my opinion just as you are, I have tried, like many others before, to help this man, to no avail. It is beyond frustrating now, and believe or not i would like Baljit to quit.
If you wish to make personal remarks please make them on my own page not someone elses. Thank you.
Hi, I have read Baljit's diary from the beginning, but I also appreciate how difficult it is to break out of the gambling mentality.
Personally, whilst Baljit is still posting on this forum, I will continue to support him because he is showing a desire to stop. I also know he does read my comments because he often thanks me on my diary.
Unfortunately it takes some longer than others to put the blocks in place that are essential to abstinence (in my mind anyway).
I think I would have kept on relapsing if I hadn't had what I considered a huge loss - I guess sometimes you have to hit your own rock bottom in order to take action.
I hope you never reach this low Baljit, and I hope you will continue to post here.
Obviously, I would be over the moon if you used some of the advice that other members have given you to aid your recovery, but that will only come when you are ready.
You are the only person that can change your life for the better.

I too have read the diary. of course its frustrating, but I still think the tone of yr last post was not helpful, and for the record full of personal comments! we can not conclude from a lack of replies that somebody does not read the comments! why read and then criticise in an unconstructive manner. if you have had enoughir, just don't read? surely. my OPINION. only. thnx .
Thank you Only1 x
I'm with you Maddie. I don't really understand what this forum is all about yet. I believe in a program of total abstinence, that's what i've been told in GA and that is what works for me and for many many others. There seems to be many people on here using their diary to keep a personal log on their own gambling, how its ok to spend nights down the bingo hall and all the rest of it because that's not really gambling!! That's my opinion anyway, its easier not to get upset by it, just don't read it or ignore it.
Hi Baljit,
"Never Give Up Giving Up"
Keep trying and one day you will c r a c k it.

Maybe total abstinence is preferable for some - but some have addictions to certain forms of gambling and not others. I personally am addicted to online slots - I can go to bingo and walk out win or lose, not a problem. There isn't a certain set of rules that everybody has to abide by. The idea of a diary is that it is personal to the person that is writing it. It is also a means of recieving SUPPORT from people in the same boat.
None of us have any right to judge anybody and I, along with Jasmine have faith in you Baljit.
Post soon hun xxx
yes but go to the bingo and win £500 where would the winnings go ? i could guarantee if i bought a lotto ticket and won a few quid i would gamble most or all the winnings...we cant win cause we cant stop ! 9/10 compulsive gamblers would gamble it,in your case chan prob on the online slots..anyways not the place using someones diary for debate...good luck baljit...never give up giving up and also nothing changes if nothing changes eh ??
Hi Baljit, and others
Slightly belated moderation here for which I apologise.
This forum is a space for supportive and constructive advice, feedback and other comments.
It is not a space for aggressive, accusatory and unpleasant comments.
We each have approaches to recovery that are different and whilst that can be frustrating it is important to respect one another's right to those approaches.
We advocate responsibility in gambling. For some that means stopping completely, for others, it does not.
GamCare will always intervene if someone is actively promoting gambling.
Warm wishes,
Mike
Very well said Mike !!!
Baljit,
just a suggestion, but maybe it would help to start a new diary with fresh determination. It is understandable that people who have followed you so far, don't hold their breath when you say you will never gamble again, and maybe that is a lot to fight against?
It isn't easy if you have people expecting you to blow it. Sometimes that feel like a lot of pressure.
Take care,
f x
