OK buddy. First day of recovery is today. Right, let`s do this together. Going to follow your diary closely. Here`s the choice.

Stop gambling. Feel better, have some money, start living a good life.

Keep gambling, feel like rubbish, have no cash and a lousy life. Where`s the choice?

If ANY one of us on here can plant that recovery seed in your head or make you "see the light" then it will have been worth you going through the mill,of course it all depends on you Baljit.

As graham says you can carry on with the deluded hope of beating the bookies or you can actually beat them by starving them of your hard earned money,if only more people saw through the smoke and mirrors created by the gambling industry,it would be a better world to live in.

Theres quite a few people (myself included) who seem to be enjoying the easter break on here at present,c,mon Baljit join the party and say goodbye to being a loser,READ,READ and READ some more on here, theres lots of people who set off in s**t street with more worrys than they maybe deserved but as they progress its changed.

I,m not saying any of us are on easy street as a result of stopping gambling,we,ve just moved on to EASIER!!! street.

Good luck to you,

"" A NEW LIFE ""

Baljit,

Congratulations on CHANGING something in your life. You are learning about what makes you want to gamble, you seem to have found that BOREDOM is a factor. So you have joined a gym. Baljit, thats fantastic it really is!

I think you are starting to learn how to fight this. Just being mentally determined is not enough. You have to change your lifestyle too, to replace whatever gambling was doing for you.

I am still concerned about the amount of money you have access to though. If you are serious about recovering from compulsive gambling, you simply cant have access to hundreds of pounds. Leave your bank cards at home, carry less than £10 - however much you need for the essentials - to get you home, and a drink and snack.

Good luck Baljit (and just think how hunky you will look, if you get at it down the gym!)

Have you thought about how you will limit your access to money Baljit?

Does anyone else think it is essential in the early stages of recovery to NOT have instant access to hundreds of pounds?

Me again. Day 2. Well done. It will get easier. Just remember, chase the losses to loose more. Always the same. Keep your cash, don`t give it to the bookie.

Baljit....

I can see you hate losing money..but I think you like the thrill of gambling...I think I understand that much...and it really is difficult for people like you/us...I hope 1 day you will be able to stop forever.

Good intentions 4 your future.

baljit, why did you have that money? You need to stop access to that money. Are you married? Is there anyone else you could trust to keep control of your money? You are not strong enough yet to give up without outside help

Baljit, I am fairly new to this site but have just spent the last 30 mins reading your posts back to July 09, and I have to say that I am finding it hard to believe you are for real. I will make one comment, and I am sorry if it is harsh but you do NOT want to stop, no way, if you did you would have excluded yourself from everywhere and you would not be carrying money. 2 simple steps that the other people have been patiently advising you to do, but you never answer these points, you just ignore them. You never put them into practice. Try it you never know it might even work, then you can start adding positive comments to your diary and earn some respect from all the people that are trying hard to support you.

Im going to ask you one last time Baljit - what have you done to limit your access to money?

Only1 is absolutely right, you always ignore these questions.

If you are serious about giving up gambling you will do something about this today. Why do you still have access to £190?

Really dont want to give up on you Baljit, but if you refuse to address this point, I am wasting my time and energy.

Good luck,

f x

I too have read through this thread, and although I am in no position to talk as I have to slipped up on a few occassions but does anyone else think that perhaps this is just someones attempt at humour? That this is just a false account with someone just trying to make a joke of this serious problem? This guy seems to have an endless supply of money, every week or two its another £200-800, how much does he get paid? None of the questions people put to him are answered. Sorry if anyone thinks I am overstepping the mark, its just my observation of reading this thread over the months.

danny, you're certainly not the first to have that suspicion - check out my post on page 15 of this thread last October...

Hello Baljit,

I have just read the last couple of posts on your diary. I have concerns after reading about other users suspicions about your intentions on here.

As you know I have tried my best to support you in a gentle way. I try me best not to make any assumptions about individuals on here. I just hope you aren't taking the pea?

Jas
