day 172 or 24.5 weeks 🙂 ,

Going strong and feeling like I am getting stronger by the day and more confident. I still got a long road ahead of me and a lot of challenges like the one right now to get through christmas and my honey moon without gambling. I have found out there is a whole deck on the cruise ship for casino so going to have to avoid that at all costs.

Also in January i can finally clear all my gambling debt which scares me too because every time I have got out of a debt I seem to want to get back in to debt. So just going to have to be really careful and once debt free stay debt free I have only got one shot at this so I got to make it count and keep on track.

I hope everyone is in for a good weekend and gamble free 🙂

Take care

Ricky

Youve got some great things to look forward yep kinda scary but youve had 172 days to prepare for them and the strength youve built up in those days and the days to come will keep you away from the casinos and all the other distractions you may encounter. By next year you'll be flying with over 200 days in the bank and you'll have a wonderfull honeymoon and be able to celebrate in style with a debt free new life, you and your mrs. Have a great weekend, see you at the next check in.

Day 178,

Hi everyone well I am getting close now to 6 month point and still going really strong had some really good news recently with holiday allowance at my work place. I am still working really hard and not a lot of time off at the moment but this evening I have some time to myself.

Today I got a really nice letter from my bank telling me they are going to pay me back 800 pounds for a loan i took out around 2 years ago. So that was some amazing news and will def help out to spoil my wife and put some into savings 🙂 So I am quite happy today and will be taking my wife out for a nice meal when it clears and to celebrate 6 months no gambling.

I hope everyone is still going strong and you are all seeing the benefits of being gamble free 🙂

Take care

Ricky

day 181,

I am almost at 6 months being gamble free the thing I have found is when I get close to a target or to a point where I managed to be gamble free this long before I feel I can't go on and the way my luck has been recently I have come into some money by working 2 jobs and a ppi claim from the bank and I have had some tough days with urges really wanting to go gamble.

I am staying strong but just wondering if there is any tips for getting past beating targets? This is always the toughest time of the year for me and I really need to be strong and keep my determination any support woul help me alot thank you

Ricky 🙂

Evening Buddy,

Just a quick note to say what a brilliant achievement to reach 181 days and on Tuesday you can say 6 months, Amazing!!

I think it is human nature to get a little jittery close to a target or something we are looking forward to. What I would say is mayb increase your blocks for a few days? I also struggled a little close to my 6 months I thought the days slowed down a bit.

Does your wife look after the money? If not mayb give her control for a few days. Do you carry your bank card to work? If so then mayb leave it behind a few days. You would think over time you could remove a few gambling barriers but I have found I still increase mine if I realise I have missed a gap somewhere. It is only recently I have put blocking software on my phone for instance.

Not saying that is the only answer but mayb worth considering increasing the barriers just while you have these pre target urges.

4 week check in tomo on xmas thread now that is time flying!!

Take Care Mate,

Flagg

Ricky

Sorry to hear you struggling with closeness to target

I find after while it all builds up and I need to take a few days out so eliminating even the thought of gambling. Just keep telling yourself once Xmas gets here you off on fab honeymoon and you will be over 200 days by then.

Keep fighting bud

Hi Ricky

You might know me best as scoot82 as we were both close in when we have given up gambling, unfortunately I have slippped up and today is my first day again after a few months winning and losing !!

Been feeling guilty about this of late but have now decided to get back to posting and trying to stay bet free, I feel i lost focus due to not posting each day and this in turn got me where I am just now also the fact I hit the 100 days I felt I had accomplished my goal when in fact the goal is to stay bet free full stop....not just for an amount of days.

Anyway I will stop rambling on for just now and say you are doing so well keep it going buddy !!
