Hi Ricky

well done on day 84, hope married life is treating you well. I watched a bit of it.. disgusting is all i can say.. 157 million a year lost by gamblers on FOBT alone... How can they sit there and say there not a problem.. Makes me even more determined to not give them one more penny of my hard earned cash.

Hey Buddy,

Good to see you still going strong! I made 90 days my first milestone and really have myself a big pat on the back for reaching it! I know you have targeted day 100 personally so make sure you do something nice to celebrate what is a great achievement! I remain confident you will reach that day and beyond because you do the right things and keep this site close!

I didn't watch the channel 4 programme myself I never really played the machines crazy to say this but I wondered why people fed them so much of their hard earned money at the time I didn't accept my own problem I threw my money at other things like football and poker! You come to realise we are all in the same boat it's just different things that draw us in! In sure the machines could have got me too in all honesty!

The thing to remember is you are now on your recovery journey and it's irrelevant how much money is lost by others as long as you stay strong and keep counting those days!

Day 89,

Hey everyone well I have had such a busy week and now I am on a guard duty just counting down until I am out the army and counting towards my goals on being gamble free.

To me I think setting goals in place is the best way so you have something to work towards. I am now less than 2 weeks away from target and thankyou Flagg for giving me an idea I will celebrate that day with my wife if I am not working. And then I will set another target at the moment I am also on the 90 day challenge with Flagg and everyone else who has stepped up for it. I hope we all get to the end of those 90 days still gamble free. Will be a great achievement.

Thanks everyone for all the comments on my thread just sorry I haven't had much time to get back in touch recently but tomorrow I am driving home to see my wife and will have a catch up on here.

Also cw well done mate on ur achievements so far keep going and adam well done on self excluding onwards and upwards as you say mate

Stay strong everyone and let's keep doing this so we can all move on gamble free and enjoy our lives without all that stress of gambling.

Kind regards

Ricky

Today is day 90,

I am close to my target now, and also doing well to stay on that challenge i will keep taking each day as it comes. I have 2 counts at the moment,

The first is countdown to me out the army which is the 7th september officially.

The second is my personal target to reach 100 days. then set a new target and also reach the 90 day challenge which i will be determined to do.

I am having a hard time in the last couple of weeks in the army but I keep telling myself that I will soon be free from it and can spend each day with my wife who has supported me so much in my road to recovery.

I also think that I started gambling seriously when i joined the army so when I leave I think I will be leaving that gambling part behind with it. Well i am determined to leave it in my past now. Move on in my life and live it to the max because you only get one shot at life. I don't want to die being a gambler laving my wife as a widow with debt pouring out.

I will stay strong and not gamble and take it each day at a time. 🙂

Hope everyone is staying strong and enjoying the weekend.

Kind Regards

Ricky 🙂

Morning Ricky,

Thanks for the post mate! Starting that countdown to the 100 days now really exciting times for you as like you said you have a few countdowns going on! I think it's brilliant to have a few little milestones! We shouldn't think too far ahead as its about a day at a time but sometimes we just need something to aim

For and you have plenty to aim for my friend!

I'm prob running the birmingham half marathon got another 10 days to decide for definite but thinking I'll do it at the moment!

Hope you have a good week!

Day 94,

Well another busy week but this one has gone much quicker than I thought it would. I am getting closer to that target of 100 days. and closer to getting out the army just a couple more weeks to get through and I can move on to another chapter of my life that doesnt involve gambling and also doesnt involve revolving around the army.

I hope everyone on here is having a good week and staying strong keep it up 🙂

Kind regards

Ricky
