Evening diary.

Had a tired days work today, late finish, early start, felt like an up hill day.satisfaction in the fact I dug deep, got the job done, happy dining room.

Those wonderful whippets in my life felt they did not need to sleep either which aided my tiredness !! Today coming home to be mobbed more than made up for it.

Today I ensure that my blocks are water tight.this month a year ago I embarked on the beginning of the end of my life as a compulsive gambler at it. twelve months ago the waves, tidal!! I caused through gambling ran through the lives of all those I love dearest.I simply could not see the wood for the trees.

Aware of this, today I choose to hold the reins, I have a choice a life to life, one, I would risk upon a turn of pitch and toss.

Today marks 50 days until I reach a full calendar year gamble free, I think a countdown will help me reach this milestone.

I understand it lurks the other side of the wall my abstinence built.today I laid another brick to better my tomorrow, ultimately those who I hold so dear will feel it to, the sea is calm, my d**n holds tight.

Just for today, I will make a choice, No Bet today.

Believe."abstain and Maintain"

Evening Diary.

Well a nice day off,walked the dogs,gave them a bath,then they slept all curled up together, they looked like the old game Kuplunck!! Lol

My knees feel like someone took a hammer to them today,a feeling I dont enjoy,still looking on the bright side I have a much lighter week ahead,late start tomorrow and thursday off to boot,so you wont catch me complaining.

49 days to that one year marker.

Off to sort out a christmas tree with Sarah now,one that is Whippet proof and wont be used as a lamppost LOL

No bet today,no time,and those odd's you must be joking!!!

Afternoon diary.

Had a lovely morning off with the dogs,and got a load done about the house. Had a shuffle around in preparation for xmas,re potted the xmas tree we picked up yesterday,,it can live in the garden for a week till we decorate it,well Sarah!! Lol .and i washed the inside of the windows and did the house work.made the herd a curry for there supper when they roll in hungry.

I feel today i have a real passion for everything,i always have had lot of get up and go,just used to focus it upon the wrong things.today can see i can achieve lot things not all cost money,the time just as much .whilst at it i committed all my time to on gambling.

I accept i cannot get that time back,but will endeavour to not waste any of my in life.

48days in my countdown to complete my gamble free year.

So off to work shortly to try some sample dishes for a new menu to attract some January business.

No Bet today no time for it!!!!

I've taken loads of inspiration from stuff you've posted to help others here- I think your "stepping forward" motto is helping me to leave the past behind- I see it mirrored so often in diaries.

I get the no time and not enough hours in the day to get done what we have to never mind wasting that precious time on gambling.

The countdown to that year begins for you what a major milestone that is people say the hardest to get and sometimes the hardest to keep but you my firend are focused and take it all in your stride.

47 days till the year marker.something i see as the foundations to recovery,i lived my life gambling in short spells,never looking much further than a day,today i see a bright future a truly rewarding one. Each day recovery becomes more enjoyable more satisfying. Today i left home at 5am put in a huge shift,for which tomorrow i will enjoy the reward of a days rest.Sarah gets to enjoy some late night xmas shopping without any worry,me i will cook supper and enjoy a relaxing gamble free day.

Afternoon diary 46 days till one year gamble free

day off today,woke up to my knees feeling battered again so had a slow start,been to the butchers,supermarket going to cook roast beef with all the trimmings for supper with a new pudding i am trying to perfect,a toffee apple sponge.

Walked the dogs over the fields for a few miles, took there minds off that dotty they got teased by earlier!!!lol

Now they are curled up kurplunk style dreaming on the couch lol.

Why is all this possible??because today i choose to make it,no spending my day at it,chasing that futile pipe dream. Today i once again rejoice in what i have,a home a wonderful family,a well earnt day off and most of all no stress,no lies to pontificate of why the funds depleted.it feels good today to be a compulsive gambler,i cannot change what i am,i today can see clear as day i can decide what to do, i have a choice, today i choose to be a recovering compulsive gambler.abstain and maintain.

Tomorrow will be the better for it.

Right time to crank up the oven,yorkshire pudding time.

Morning diary

enjoying a lazy morning,the weather grim ,so enjoyed a catch up,a good dose of resolve for the soul.46 days on the countdown clock.

Had a great day off,lovely supper and great company.

Off to work shortly,vip dinner tonight,i don't treat any customers any different,why would you,everyone's money is the same colour,but the boss likes to think we go the extra step !!little does he know we do every day.

So today knees feeling the benefits of some rest,my resolve topped up and the picture of my soulmates naughty smile she left me with this morning embedded on my mind,today i won't be risking all.
