The film doesn't exactly give away the topic and I realise this topic is different for everyone. That said the film does represent my own take.
I've been thinking for months about the relief I felt when I opened up and told everyone about my gambling addiction. So I've been wondering why it's relief for me. Is it a problem shared is one halved. Is it the relief of not having to lie anymore ? Is it relief that someone else knows the struggles I've been through to understand why I've acted the way I have ? Maybe some of those but I genuinely think, going back to say zero, that a large part of the relief was passing over (hence the film title) the problem to my partner. I knew I could sort out all the trouble and get into recovery by myself and would need her help. Whether that was financially, emotionally, educationally or just to talk to. So for me I passed on a lot of my problems which is why I felt the relief.Â
