Thanks Blondie, Charlotte, and Rach!!

G'Morning Diary,

A sort of quick fly by on my own diary this morning as we are getting ready to go to the Big E. We are still celebrating my partner's birthday and it is officially the first day of fall! The Big E is just one of the several fall festivals that we will be attending this year. Things are comfortable here on the home front. Mom is settling in, and there is less tension in the air. I do believe that the healing process has begun for my mother and me. We were all watching a movie last night and there was a scene where a man walked through a casino in vegas. Of course, the sound of the slots triggered an urge or two but, they left almost as quickly as they came. I feel very happy and hopeful today. Cotton candy and ** -a -whirl here I come!! lol! To anyone reading my diary, have a great day today. Stay strong and don't forget to have some fun! joanxxx

Hi Joan and thank you so much for your post on my diary. Ive still not got my own laptop fixed yet, looks like Im gonna have to get a new one 🙁

You are such an inspiration to so many on here, and for that I thank you. Glad alls going good for you and your mum, its hard when the road is bumpy, me, I like a smoothe even road, makes life so much easier 🙂

I too have my mother living with us, have done so for the past 5 years. Theres a long story there but its a painful one so will maybe share it on my diary one day, Im just afraid that if I say too much I'll have regrets (if that makes sense)

Anyway my friend, have a wonderful E day, Im settling down to watch X Factor - another fan !!

All the Best to you and yours, belated bithday wishes to Patrice 🙂 and give your mum a wee cuddle from Edinburgh

Cameron

Thanks for the posts on my diary!!

G'morning Diary,

We had a wonderful time at the fair yesterday. Did not get home until late in the evening. We are still pretty exhausted. Not too much planned for today -- but, will definately get over to a farmers market to pick up some fresh apples for the week. I really really love this time of year!! I want to savor every moment in the fall sunshine. The leaves will be turning soon and the air will get windy and witchy.. that familiar sound of rustling leaves and the smell of fair food..apple crisp, funnel cakes with powdered sugar and roasted pulled pork sandwiches!! No, it's not all about the food but, I do love a fall pig roast!! Cannot forget about the beautiful monarch butterflies... wow.. so much beauty. Anyone reading my diary have a great day today. Stay strong! -joan

Thanks ((((( Rach and Shiny))))) big hugs -- ouch, still hurtin a little.. 🙂

G'morning Diary,

I'm still bent in half but, have to get myself into work anyway. Apparently, they cannot get a replacement so, the training must go on. They might need to strap me to a board.. lol.. I pictured that and made myself laugh. No urges, no thoughts about gambling. Will see what the weekend brings.. We wanted to head over to the Topsfield Fair on Saturday but, it sounds like it is gonna be a washout. That's a problem b/c that is when we get funny and start working on eachother to do something stupid. It is a payday weekend on top of it. I feel strong. I don't feel vulnerable -- not an emotional wreck like last week but, I can get lazy. So, my guard is up. Will have to come up with something good and clean to do this weekend. Well, I am off to work. This should be interesting.. lol... To anyone reading my diary have a great day. Today, is the only day that counts -- say NO to gambling! -joan

HI Judy,

Thanks so much for your post when i needed it most. Yesterday was a really tough day for me, had urges coming left right and centre not just gambling, smoking and eating also. I suppose its a lesson to me that i have to be carefull and also more realistic I dont want to jeopardise what i have done so far so if i have to let up on one it wont be the gambling.

Hope the back is a little better today and work is kind to you.

Topsfield fair is a wash out eh, you want to see the rain here i live facing a river its pretty scary right now but the rain has stopped for now.

Enjoy your day joan, today really is the only day that counts.

Blondie xx

G'morning Diary,

A quick check in before I shove off to work.. sigh.. that is a story in itself but suffice to say, I am getting through the week. lol.. Look, I am grateful to be working. So many people suffering -- unable to work-- or able but, who cannot find it.. I'm content. No thoughts or urges but, that is typical when I am busy. Made plans for Saturday togo to mall with my partner to have our hair done, get lunch and go to a movie.. should keep us out of trouble.. SHOULD.. I promise myself to keep my guard up and to do my very best to fight off any urges. When i am in a better frame of mind I am not as vulnerable. So, I am calm and ready to take on the day. Back feels better too. To anyone reading my diary -- all things are possible.. when we are gamble free. Say "hell no" to gambling just for today. -joan

Joan.

Glad to read that you back is feeling better, you are so right when you say that if your mindset is in the right place it is easy to abstain.

I try to keep a gallery of all the good things I have up there somewhere amoungst the grey matter and when the urge pops up, I know there is a better channel to view!!

Knowone ever said it would be easy Lol!!

Keep makin the choice for you and yours WELL Done!!

Duncs stepping forward never back.
