I crossed off another gamble free day on my calendar and checked in on Flagg's thread. On my way out to work in a few minutes so, must keep this post short and sweet. Have no urges and no intention to gamble. I know that pay day weekend this Friday will be a challenge so have already booked myself for babysitting Friday overnight into Saturday. Its great that you are pre-empting when the tricky days will be and putting things in place to keep you occupied and babysitting for sure will do that lol.

I crossed off another gamble free day on my calendar. More than ever I am determined to abstain ( thanks duncs ). I am addicted to alcohol, food, and gambling. I am completely aware of the fact that I must live will a diseased brain. When in addiction am capable of some pretty depraved acts. HOWEVER.. who is more depraved, the addict or another human being who has figured out a way to profit/capitalize off of my diseased brain. I sleep easy at night these days. The money I earn is clean and it was hard earned. I vow to do whatever it takes to never ever give another one of my beautiful clean pennies to the gambling establishment. Make your money boys ( and girls).. In the end, it will all come out in the wash. One word..KARMA. Have a great day everybody. Stay strong. We can do this together one day at a time. -joanxxx

well thanks for the post to me thread. sounds like your cruising along nicely in your days. i seem to cruise and crash for the the most part but the money damage aint as bad since ive been making a point to dole out more in bills. so yeah, could be worse i guess.

Yep, I crossed off yet another gamble free day on my diary. The weeks seem to be flying by. Not too thrilled to hear about a Nor'easter coming our way again today and tomorrow. Lots of wind, rain, snow, and flooding! I worry about P driving. Our cars are sh it and living paycheck to paycheck right now, so,no money to get them repaired. I am grateful that they both move but, they both need brakes, tires, and belts... Oh well, things could be much worse. I could be waking up in Statten Island New York or the Jersey Shore looking at an oncoming Nor'easter. I will say a little prayer for all of those poor folks. They are still bailing out from the last one and here comes another.. Got a restful day planned today. Got a new novel and plan on starting that. Will make an attempt not to eat everything in site. When I'm home from work I tend to snack like crazy. That is something I have always done. Anyway, my primary focus is no gambling and am doing well on that front so far. That's it for me today. Hi Ya Shiny!! No, you are right. In the scheme of things a few cookies OR a bag of hot buttery microwave popcorn does not matter. For now, it's about not gambling. My first goal is 30 days and I am almost there! Anyway, it's a slow afternoon so, thought I would drop back onto the diaries.. The wind is picking up and starting to snow.. I hope P gets home ok... that's about it. My mind for once is pretty quiet. Hope all is well for everyone out there. Stay strong. I know I will. 😀 -joan

So, another gamble free day behind me and another pink x on my recovery calendar! I'm racking them up I tell you! No time to write this morning. Have to get out and dig out the cars. The driveway is blocked too! I agree with you JP. The snow is beautiful. But, it is a bi tch to shovel!! lol! This is just the beginning of winter though so, I've got the same pants to get glad in.. Setting short term targets is a great incentive for our recoveries but whilst still taking it a day at a time , don't worry bout not much to say I think we all go through stages like that and sometimes not having much to say is no bad thing just shows life is ticking along nicely
