thanks duncs and castle!!!!

Still going strong. Crossed off another gamble free day on my calendar. Got lots planned for today including a sleep over with my two tiny nieces. They are like two little squirrels! I will be worn out after this one that's for sure. Mom and I are making tremendous progress -- peace and harmony in our little house once again. No place in my life for dark rooms filled with desparate people-- filthy gaming -- dirty money. What the hell was I thinking? Does not matter. Going forward just like Duncs and Barack Obama! 😀 Stay strong everyone. I will too. -joanxxx

Thanks Charlotte and Rach!!

Just got in a little while ago.. I am soooo tired! Those little girls really wore me out! lol.. Was feeling some pretty strong urges too but managed to put them behind me. Payday weekend is really tough.. Plus, I am starting to freak out about surgery next month. Not an excuse I know, but, the mind plays such s**t ty little tricks..I handed Patrice 180 bucks and told her guess what you just won!! She was thrilled. She had a huge car repair bill and was worried we might be short for the next 2 weeks. I am still a little wobbly but, have no intention of giving those thieving b*******s my hard earned cash. If I do not gamble tonight I win. Stay strong everyone. I promise I will too. joanxxx

Thanks Rach. ((((( R))))))

Well, the weekend is winding down and so are the urges. I'm proud of myself for pushing through. It starts with images and then full blown fantacies about winning. It's funny how losing does not enter the equation. This trigger-image is hard wired into my brain!! And, I cannot help but believe that it is on purpose. But, that doesnt matter and I know it. It's Sunday, Patrice is happy b/c we have the proper resources for a great Thanksgiving. My bank account is in tact and I have no desire to gamble. I had the wierdest dreams about drinking last night -- I dreamed I was drinking molotov cocktails.... a shrink would have a field day with that one! lol.. Have a great day everyone. "we all stand together" gamble free!! (thanks Rach) -joanxxx

Thanks Jungle Pete and Duncs!

And, yes, crossed off another gamble free day on my calendar. P has the day off today so, will probably go and do some laundry with her. I cant believe how close we are to Thanksgiving and then Christmas! Seems like time is just flying by. It wasnt long ago when I thought the time was dragging and it felt like I had peanut butter running through my veins. I will always have to deal with the triggers and subsequent urges but, it is getting easier and easier. I'm a slot J****E. I found GamCare July 23rd of this year. Since that time I have not gambled on line. I think I had 2 blips that did not come even close to breaking my bank or my spirit. My slips only made me stronger in my resolve to quit. I am grateful for this forum and all of the good people I have met on it so far. Today, I am just really filled with gratitude. It wasnt all that long ago when Monday morning would have felt like the morning after Armageddon. I wont dwell on those days but, I will never forget either. Have a great day everybody. Stay very strong and I will too! -joanxx

HI Joan,

What a fantastic post, short and sweet and sums it up in a peanut butter nut shell lol.

I think that calender of yours will be the next big thing to bottle and sell to other Compulsive gamblers its serving you very well.

Yep christmas is approaching fast I know this because the "Coca cola" advert is on the tele.. "HOlidays are coming lol ".

Enjoy your day off.

Off to a late start this morning. A water main broke in town and we have to boil all of our water til further notice. It took me over an hour to do the dishes this morning. LOL. It is not a work week so, it is not really all that bad. Mom is having trouble adjusting but, that's because her routine is a little off. I'm sure water will be restored in a day or two. Anyway, I crossed off another gamble free day on my calendar this morning and that makes 30 days. I have reached my first goal! YAY!! Next goal is 60 days. We are also making tremendous headway paying down our gambling debt. Still a ways to go but, moving along at my own pace and feeling pretty good today. I hope everyone out there is ok. Stay very strong. I will too. -joanxx
