Thank you Joanna and K1.Day 5 gamble free. You are so right about the guilt thing Joanna.Going to Morrisonshas taken on an whole new meaning!!!We feel like a normal couple doing normal things and its quite a good feeling! We are off on holiday on Monday but we will do everything in our power to abstain from gambling.Too many holdays have been ruined by this terrible addiction and we are determined that this is not going to be one of them.We are also booking one of those newspaper holidaysin September and we will have one good block in place. Its called Mother!!Daughters birthday tomorrow she will be 18.We have managed to make it memorable for her despite our gambling. We have paid for a holiday and she has some nice surprises in store as well. She deserves it cos shes a good girl.Infact we have two brilliant kids and they have been through so much because of gambling so we owe it to them to stay strong.Anyway looking forward to day 6.Bestwishes to all. Hi Jaynie - Lovely to read your happy and positive post. I hope you are all having a great weekend for your daughter's 18th birthday.
I'm sure your children have already noticed the difference in both of you since making the break from gambling. It's true - our families are a great motivation to keep on the straight and narrow, and its wonderful to be able to afford treats for them with 'real' money. Enjoy!
Joanna
Thank you for your lovely post Joanna.Didnt have time to post on the diaries yesterday as we spent time with our daughter on her birthday. We took her and her friend out for a meal and then surprised her with a lovely cake.It was expensive but unlike gambling worth every penny just to see her face. Then she went out on the town with her boyfriend and friends so me and her dad were awake until the early hours waiting for her to come home! She told us she had visited a casino just to see what it was like then she said it was boring and wouldn't be visiting again. What a relief!Anyway we are off on holiday tomorrow on a budget so no wifi so wont be able to post but God willing it will be gamble free.Day 7 gamble free. Will post when we get home.Jaynie xx
So glad you all had a great time - another deposit in the happy memory bank!
Enjoy your holiday and well done on a whole week of sanity. Look forward to hearing from you on your return.
Joanna
Sorry we haven't posted for a few days we have been too busy but not gambling! We had a great holiday the weather was perfect.I wondered why I got attacked by loads of seagulls only to find my husband had put a few chips behind my back while I was sitting on the harbour wall admiring the view!In his eyes I saw the cheeky boy I married not the man who was distraught from losing money to gambling and I know which I prefer.Day 16 and feeling strong Jaynie xx
Day 17.Been shopping with my mum and son had a lovely day.Just sitting relaxing and drinking cups of tea in a caf was great.Makes me feel like a "normal" person rather than a gambler. Not that gamblers aren't normal people but well you know what I mean.Still feeling strong.Best wishes to all Jaynie xxx
Hi Jaynie

Joanna
Hi jaynie Well done on 17 days you are doing fantastic.
See you back for day 18 .
Day 20.Thank you Joanna and Graham for your words of support.Daughter gone on holiday with her friends today so we have been busy getting everything ready.Never go shopping with an eighteen year old girl.Five hours is enough for anyone!Missing her already. My OH and I went for a walk last night both of us confessed to each other that we still have thoughts of gambling so we remind one another how we have felt in the past.So instead of talking each other into it we did the opposite which is good.Stay strong everyone.Best Wishes Jaynie xxx
