I installed "Bet Blocker" over a month ago. What a load of rubbish. I was still able to access betting sites but managed to stay in total control betting small on horses or football. Nothing crazy. I actually found myself enjoying it. Until today when I went on roulette online and lost £400 in the space of two hours.
So the sickness, emptiness, anxiety and depression starts again.
Sign up to GamStop mate. Guaranteed to stop you gambling online. ??
I would reccomend not betting at all. Even small. When we admit an addiction theres every chance you can relapse when your still in the game.
Have you attended any GA groups or spoken to a specialist.
Hi mate I feel you. This is the first time to comment here and tell the truth of my relapse. And I am not saying where the same but it my help. The reason for my relapse is not telling the "Truth ". I keep lying to myself and everyone. I am registered to gamstop and got the blocker but even though I got that 2 I still find the way to gamble. From my 1st counselling session I told them I give my wife all my bank car and all online access to her to change it. Yes I give it but did tell that I already memorize the card details and I got a photo of it on my mobile and it is registered with Neteler skril etc. And the worst part of it at the back of my mind still want to catch up with my losses.
Even I got no money in the bank I will ask someone for money to use for something else but it is for gambling. Now I am about to loss my family because of my gambling addiction and I feel so bad. Thats why now I am telling the truth.
Hello X M,
Thank you for posting. As others have suggested registering with Gam Stop and downloading an effective blocking software on to any electronic device you may use to gamble will give you a decent barrier to accessing any online gambling sites.
You may also wish to think about your access to money to gamble; one option to consider might be a bank account that will block any gambling transactions.
If you would like to contact the netline or helpline on 0808 8020 133, one of our advisers can talk to you about the advice and support available to you. The lines are open every day from 8.00am until midnight.
Wishing you all the very best,
Helen

Gamban, it’s free on the gamcare website & it blocks anything gambling related. Recommend it highly
I think I may do that.
It's really difficult to completely stop.
I haven't been to any meetings.
It's just all about making everything worse and getting out of control. Until Life is ruined. I keep reading about how people have stopped and their Lives are so much better. Maybe that can happen to us too.
Hello. Thanks for your reply. I didn't know you could even do anything with the bank to block gambling transactions.

It can.
I'm 140 days in and didnt ever think i'd get this far after 20+ years of compulsive gambling. I won;t lie, it's been tough and I've been through a whole lot of emotions, but nothing as bad as that feeling you described in your first post.
Things become easier and you feel more positive when you realise what's gone has gone and there is no need to look back too much at the past. learn from it and move forward....but you absolutely must. Even your language in some posts seems that you're still lying to yourslef a little - "I may try that" etc... you must. No excuses now, just do everything you know that you should, ride out the bad times and keep moving forward. It will change your life.
140 days! Amazing. Thanks for the reply. I'm going to really try. How did you do it. What did you do? How did you stop?
Enough was enough. I had to stop.
I decided a date to stop, i challenged myself to stick with it, i got blocks in place, i kept busy and i visited here loads. I've read lots of things on here and learnt from the inspirational people. Have a good look around and read some threads.
Its tough, but worth it.
I'm going to do the same.
So the sickness, emptiness, anxiety and depression starts again.
ah yes the dreaded feeling when you have just made your third £100 deposit within the space of an hour the latvian croupiers are not adequately trained to deal with problem gamblers and therefore lack any kind of empathy towards the reality of what is going on
to them they are just sitting dealing cards out to a camera
however the punters are the ones that pay the price as there is no barrier no control no limits to what you can do on there
ive always found it strange that banks and operators are willingly processing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of gambling transactions on a daily basis without anyone batting an eyelid ??
there is more regulation on crypto currencys than there is online gambling
i pray that one day in the future a goverment will be brave enough to launch an inquiry into online gambling and what exactly is going on hopefully we will have an outcome similar to the PPI scandal and everyone will get their money back ......who knows
Affected by gambling?
