Hi Mixer :)) Nothing wrong with good intentions and enthusiasm my friend and as I said I think it's great that your all supporting each other but I think sometimes it's much easier to use whats already there and working , unless of course it stops working and you need other support :)).

Have a good evening buddy and apologies for not posting on your thread .

Best wishes Alan

Hi Everyone,

Having read the numerous comments about my proposed setting up of a club, I can see that it isn't the best way forward. I can see how it could start a clique, ill feeling and could turn out to be immensely unhelpful to some. Anything that goes against the aims of Gamgare = no dice.

I can see that we have a club already; it's called Gamcare and the wealth of resources and help it offers!

I can see this now; all I can say in mitigation is that sometimes I can get blinded by my enthusiasm and determination and desperation perhaps to stop.

Thank you for all your comments - straight talking is always best - and the idea of a club is permanently parked. Worth putting out there for discussion though. If you don't ask you don't get!

Still going to stop gambling though. And bonds will still develop within the spirit and goodwill that we all share here. Ain't that right KP, Katie, Change, EVERYONE...? 🙂

Keep positive all! And great to hear you're not doing your nuts, KP!

Mixer the general idea is good. It was just the rules that seemed a bit harsh.
I think the general idea your talking about is similar to a challenge thread. Which mostly get done on the overcoming section.
You could set up say a 30 day challenge with daily, every other,or weekly checkins. That way you have a collective thread which you all can use. Similar to what you described but with a goal at the end. And you can just keep changing the challenge as you see fit.

It's good to see you all bouncing off each other. Keep it going
Deano

Yes that's good.
Mix why don't you open a diary where we can collectively post and help each other.

As long as people check in on a daily basis and read and reply to others diaries I'm happy.

A week for me tomorrow!!

Come on guys!!

As we storm over the week finish line, Katiecoo, KP, Change, we are already building a small but sure layer of resistance.

It's a long journey ahead, and it's going to be tough, but be can also make it fun with our collective team spirit.

I really like KP's sign off: We CAN and we WILL. I've also learned what Kevlar is!!

Katiecoo, you are also doing great. We have stopped for 8 days!

Change, keep it going!

And same applies to everyone giving it a go right now. You want a peaceful Christmas,( as katiecoo nicely puts it), and you know what, it CAN happen!

I will think about creating a new diary, thanks Alan, Dean0 for your sage advice. If I do, I'll want to get it right, and in the right spirit.

No gambling this weekend! That's my clarion call!

Good morning, Katiecoo and KP!

I've already been up an hour; the joys of a 4year old son! I wish he knew it was the weekend!

And it is the weekend, of course, and fantastic we are all standing firm, shoulder to shoulder.

Katiecoo, just take a look at your profile. You haven't gambled for ten days. What can I say except - congratulations on a stunning achievement. And you are not only making yourself happier and more at peace, but your nearest and dearest too. Not forgetting the extra motivation you are giving me, KP, Chance and possible many others on here who really want to stop!

KP, a very good morning to you sir! Your resolve, likewise, is outstanding. When gambling ever slips into my mind, straightaway I think of our clarion call: We CAN and we WILL. It's the best motivational line I have heard and it's my mantra. You deserve a great weekend and walk with a spring in your step - we are all behind you, every step of the way.

Change - you are also doing fantastic. We are all sticking together, and you are part of this great team brought together by the bonds we have made on this great site.

We are choosing life. How great is that!

Morning all. Hope your all well.

Day 8 for me.
Day 10 for some of you!!
Some achievement. My next target is 10 then 14 days.

Stuck in work today sadly.

Another motivational thing I'm doing is I look at my bank balance every morning and smile.

Remember guys 1 positive thought in the morning can change your entire day.

We CAN and we WILL.

Hi KP, and I have to say I've been looking at my bank balance and have a very few transactions, because I've not been casually spending and putting the rest in boxes, and I'm noticeably ahead.

All this extra cash! Wow, if this is non-gambling, this is the life I want!

Katiecoo, Change, I hope you are likewise seeing extra spare cash. Our hard work and determination is paying off.
