Stopped gambling yesterday and it’s my first day gamble free. I had to put some money in the bank i had won over the weekend and had £250 my wife knew about and £160 hidden. I resisted the feeling of taken at £160 and going straight to the bookies and making some excuse to my wife as to why i needed to nip out. So all the money went straight into my account where my card is frozen on any gambling online. My wife now has both my cards so I don’t have any control of my money. I usually have a couple of quid on the Irish every week and in the back of my mind I’m thinking it would be brilliant if I won it on Christmas Day but I’m trying my hardest to push that thought out of my head. It’s the same with the Boxing Day football as I’ve just won big on the footy at weekend so in my head I’m thinking It’s going to come in again which I know is stupid thinking. I’m currently subscribed to the Postcode Lottery but I need to get rid of all forms of gambling if I want to carry on being GF. Will keep you updated.Â
Evening Hope,
Well done on your first day gamble free and for depositing all of your money. You are right, you need to get rid of all forms of gambling. We all started out with a small flutter at some point. We are not amongst those who can have an occasional bet for fun. Keep going x

Quick update. The last bet I did was on Sunday the 22nd December. It’s been very hard as the football games have been coming thick and fast over the festive period but I’ve resisted the temptation. Just paid some of my CC off and haven’t got much left to pay now. I feel good going into 2020 and I hope everyone on here can overcome their problems and enjoy the year ahead.Â
Will keep you all updated throughout the year.Â
