Today is day 12 of not gambling, also includes not watching the YouTube streamers gambling. I've gone from gambling ever evening to nothing.Â
Had a few very tempting times this week, mainly when I came into 5k which I wasn't expecting and money was paid into my bank.Â
I managed to stop myself using that by moving it to an account which I can't touch without days notice, thus giving me time to think and consider.Â
Today was a close call, sat in the garden with a beer and remembered I hadn't closed my video slots account, so felt all giddy so went to log in to have a cheeky play, lucky my blocking app kicked in on my phone which wouldn't let me, this gave me time to really think.  I decided not to and went in the house and grabbed a snack and did a quick DIY job until the urge wentÂ
Â
Does it get easier lol
I'll stick with it, I know it's only been 12 days but I've got money in my account from my salary which normally by now I'm all spent up so happy with that.Â

Hello,
Well done on your progress so far. This is a real achievement, don’t underestimate the value in 12 days for yourself.Â
I am 1 year and 1 day GF now and I still remain incredibly grateful for GamBan from all sites, particularly when urges kick in.
From where I am sat, it does get easier. It requires consistency in good choices, and being open to getting help/support (I had counselling from GamCare and it was totally the best thing!).

I will be where you are in 5 months time! A post that could not be more true and wish that I had a counsellor 8 years ago where I could have saved tens of thousands! Instead I had my counselling sessions September just gone and like you, my mindset has shifted completely to not gambling.
Â
I am on here to help the likes of Dave208 and tell them it does get easier - just be sure that you 100% want to stop. I had urges like you and caved in so many times in the past. Effortlessly go 2 weeks without gambling and then in one stupid crazy weekend be chasing losses thinking what have i done!. Then on a Sunday night I’d be getting ready for work, waiting on several replies on my whatsapp from people I hadnt spoke to in a while asking for money. A lot of money.Â
Truth be told I could not carry on like that and I’m sure that u don’t want to go back to that place. Major difference for the success of my recovery was counselling through GamCare, it’s changed my life, highly encourage it!
