sling comes off Friday. It has driven me nuts. More importantly still taking it one day at a time and learning more each day.
No more sling. Thank God. It was driving me crazy but not too crazy to bet!
Just wondered if anyone wanted to know what I had for my breakfast? (Sarcasm)
Hi Phil?
What did you have for breakfast?
Toad.
Perhaps , "Toad in the hole " Phil ? or " A full welsh " Is there such a thing ? , do we differ in a traditional brekkie ?
Maybe a " Full Welsh " is like a " Full English " except you have a lot more Tea with it then go for a " Leek " ? :))
( No Sarcasm Phil , just a bit of whit and humor ( I hope ) ?
Have a good day fella :))
No thanks, Phil, too much info. Hope all is otherwise well?
CW
Hi CW I'm pretty good thanks apart from the hand which is still bandaged up. No sling though thank God and no gambling one day at a time.
No Bookies. No on-line betting. No scratch cards. No sweepstakes. No £1 to win £30 in a charity thingy pot. I do not want to do any of these activities but what I DO want is to change my behaviour and be a better person. In MY view if your main concern is the money you lost and you can't see anything else - well you know where I'm coming from I'm sure.
Bnadage off hand! Expect the start of the sequel to War and Peace.....

Hi Phil,
Complete abstinence is my only way also. The days of playing with free bets and other opportunities by the bookies and casino's to play with fire arn't in my safety tools today. Hopefully they never will be again! To supporting each other! Tri x SIR
Yep complete abstinence. I don't live that way anymore and don't want to but am aware it is still early days in my recovery and I still have a lot to learn especially from others a lot wiser than me. Anyway one day at a time......have a great day x
Morning. haven't had much to say lately plus hand has been mega painful despite removal of dressing. Anyway hope all people with appropriate measures and frame of mind people are doing well and here's to another bet-free day. Phil
Hi hope all are well. Still feeling quiet but still bet free with all the right measures in place....one day at a time. Best wishes Phil
God some of my friends are bellends.I've explained over and over I CANNOT tackle everything at once. The list to tackle:
1. Gambling - one day at a time.
2. Tranquilliser dependency over a period of time sensibly and with the support of my GP. already taking half of what I was on three months ago.
3. Cut down on alcohol which I already am. For example:My wife and I have only had one bottle of wine in the evening in three months.
4. Stop smoking. I do not smoke in the mornings or evenings and not in the house. I only smoke when I meet people for a cuppa or when out watching football etc.
These are all important issues but judgemental people with their own issues with smoking and drinking etc far worse than me but with no in insight into their own behaviour are being t-wattish to me.
Anyway as other people have mentioned my own recovery - one day at a time - is the most important thing but I just can't help but getting riled sometimes.
I say complete abstinence but i mean abstinence with support. Might be good to add what organisations are helping you.
Affected by gambling?
