Day 7

Target day 8

Payday today, am going to remove temptation and pay all my bills right now. Every single penny will disappear because of the debts I have built up so will have nothing until mid march and this is a pain but gambling is a million times worse.

Still day 7

Bills paid, no gambling, money has gone to reducing debt.

When I first started this journey I calculated 1460 days until debt free

This is now 1062 days until debt free

Step by step that is all, thousands of thoughts flying around my head as the intense emotions return, these emotions are dulled by gambling and come back to haunt us when we are clean.

It is a simple thought that is the mot powerful of all

'the only way to stop gambling is to stop gambling'.

1059 days until debt free.

If I gamble now I risk losing everthing, why would i do that? Well I guess because the gambling demon is strong and this is an illness. Have to fight the illness.

Stay stronger

Keep fighting mate you will get there. And 1000+ days may seem like a lot but think of how the days really do fly - Februarys nearly over already. Its not as long as it seems and with gambling in your life that debt free day will just get further and further away.

Thanks for your support and encouragement i need the lift so thank you and keep going - we will get there

Hi Paul's,

That's a fare few days till gamble free but life passes us buy so quickly it will be here in the blink of an eye.

Show me a person who doesn't have debt? Even none gamblers are in up to there eyeballs. Are you going to count down those days to being gamble free or are you going to live each day and whilst you do that debt free day gets nearer. I don't by any means mean to dismiss the debt or the worry it may cause you, but dont lose focus on the positive things each of those days will bring you when your gamble free.

Keep going, keep fighting those demons.

Take care

Thanks Judy, david, Blondie and BS for your kind comments..

I am just ticking along now, staying gamble free and trying not to look back at the car crashes that I have left behind.

Leaving them behind is the key, they are still there, I cannot escape them but I can learn to deal with them and move on, move forward. Staying gamble free is THE only way to achieve this and that is exactly what I intend to do

Well keep up the attitude cause its the only thing we got to go on really. Guess unless we got someone following us around with a stick ready to beat us down with them gambling attempts were kinda on our own. Gotta really want it I guess or we just fall back into the same routine with the same results. Wish there was a easy out and guess there is if we just stay away from it all.

That is it in a nutshull 'soul, keep going and enjoy it while we can because the alternative is living hell.

Mind you it would be good if we could follow each other around with a huge GAMCARE stick to warning us of a beating if we gamble!

Change the routine and change can be made, not easy of course that is why they call them routines but we CAN do it and enjoy life at the same time.

1460 days - original debt fee target now down to

1051 days until debt free, I just love counting and love watching those days coming down, I think gamblers are one of the few people who sometimes actually enjoy paying bills as we are one more step along the road to salvation..

Important not to obssess as Blondie has said lots of people live with debt so I am going to try to enjoy living a little more, being gamble free gives us the time and money to do this...

1050 days until debt free, this is a geat countdown and I am in it for the long haul. Have been counting down from 1460 days over a year ago and still enjoying it!

Last year i went the whole of March gamble free and intend to do so again, it can be done...

I am also trying to save for a holiday to Asia where I have always wanted to go but never been able to save enough to go as I have always wasted this money in the bookies. This is a real incentive and for the first time I think I can actually achieve it. Strange really that I thought such trips could never be made or I was daft for fantasizing about such a holiday and yet at the same time I was happy to dream I would win big when it was completely unachievable.....

Gambling robs these things from us as we press the self destruct button and feed our addictions by starving ourselves. NO more! I shall eat again from the table of happiness
