You're doing well volcano.

I'm liking this prolific posting.

Excellent work in the 'thought' thread. Post #147 was a real doozy.

re: instruments.

I don't think you should be asking people 'what could I play?' but 'what do I want to play?'

I asked myself that in my youth.

I thought: 'I'm cool, people know that about me - what instrument would suit me best?'

'Who's the coolest person in every band?'

I contemplated...for like a nanosecond...everyone knows the answer...

It's the drummer!!!

So that's what I played; for about two years until I started gambling.

Put the drumsticks down, picked the bookies pen up and never played my drums again. Gambling was soon my only interest - sold my drum kit to gamble.

To be honest I wasn't very good or much of a natural on the drums.

Turns out I wasn't cool enough to be a drummer.

Anyway, I broke my left wrist during my drumming days. Six weeks I had my wrist in a cast. I still played but had to adapt. Wedged a drumstick in my cast (seemed like a good idea at the time) but the vibrations didn't feel good on a broken wrist so played with one arm, occasionally I'd manage a few ghost notes on the snare at best.

I was so bad the less noise I made the better I probably sounded.

We can all look at examples of people who play instruments with a disability to see your options and that's a good idea. Rick Allen of Def Leppard being the obvious drum one.

Thing is, you don't need to limit yourself to doing something just because someone else already has - that's not discovery.

You could play anything volcano. Adapt or find a new way. If you do that you could be the first, pave the way for generations of future musicians.

Don't even limit yourself to instruments.

People in Stomp are on a world tour playing the trash can.

There are so many percussion 'instruments' out there!

Don't let me or anyone else tell you what you could play; listen to the suggestions, take them all on board then play whatever you want volcano.

Let me bring Henry Rollins in here, an integral part of punk-rock history and one of my favourite (front) men.

Rollins says he can't sing: "I can't hold a note or play guitar but I can express myself and punk-rock gave me that opportunity."

"I go at everything thinking: you think I can't?"

"

You wana try acting?"

"Yeah, I'll try acting"

"

Can you act?"

"No!!! So let's go!!!"

"I just show up and say 'yes' to things."

That's cool.

Hai Glint, your right.

And then I started thinking,

' what am I talking about ?, I've been playing the worlds smallest violin ! ' for an age but need to start playing the blues .... so watch this space. I have a plan !

Anyway how are you ? It's Friday night, a night dedicated to shirts and music and men in black with walkie talkies.

The winds blowing nicely behind us Glint

I'm doing much better thank you volcano.

Still a bit static, some of the most basic things in life are still a struggle for me.

I'm feeling more of a gentle breeze than the wind right now and I'm trying to get comfortable with that.

Patiently pondering.

I think I'm on my own here, but I quite like having a little CAPTCHA puzzle when I post. Currently have 100% success with them. I'd like them to be more challenging and maybe throw in some general knowledge ones.

My point is (boasting aside)...

I'm trying to be more concious of my little successes in life and acknowledge them. This I might write about in more detail sometime.

Particularly and typically when I speak to someone I could have and usually would have avoided I'm trying to think about the action of doing that (and what is an achievement for me) before I do it, instead of taking the easy option in the moment. Almost taking prior pride to encourage the action.

This is working quite well.

It was humid mid week Glint, I didn't really like it, yet was hoping that the storm would hit in my zzzzz hours and clear rhe air, never quite worked like that.

My point is,a breeze is good, static is also ok ! Gives us time to ponder!

Your a good man Glint, your doing well and *** the pride....

I read something similar to this today.....

Some one was saying that they didn't deserve happiness. That they were the type of person that deserved there ' shi.tty life and there misery!!! etc

Then the person who they were saying it too, said ' What makes you so special ? '

Quite a cool reply I thought ...

As I sit at the station awaiting departure, I think to myself that 2 hands are a luxury as the pig opposite rams his chops with a Cornish pasty as we play table war. I have a card up my sleeve as I move his water and position my middle plastic finger up. Averting eye contact is a weakness as I manourrvre his feet to give my two lower limbs space to breathe.

Anybody reading this will wonder what's this got to do with gambling and in truth, f/A really but he's urinating me off.....

Chortle. Great use of the prosthetic there 🙂 I do like an old school middle finger salute! Almost as cunning as navigating the GC profanity police 🙂

And I get what admin explained to me but downloading our rubbish here is important...Please tell me he wasn't chewing with his mouth open!

? Please enlighten me Bal in how you came up with ' train rage ? '.

I thought it was me who came up with riddles but them two words are a lot harder than the cross word in front of me.

Anyway, the first time you've visited this diary and is that support ? I thank you for your effort .

Regards

Paul

Another lover of equations Bal but I would probably of used a * and possibly a - and maybe even a ^ in the equation as + seem to complicate equations somewhat. But thanks for clarifying

The only fishing I seem to do is ' plenty of ', with which is as good as my gambling and fortunately I lose interest in it quickly rather than my futile attempt in chasing my gambling rainbow.

I hope you got plenty of bites and enjoyed the beers. And I'm sure, even know that you will agree the little fishes are a lot easier to catch than the big fobt fish
