Another day, another saved dollar, another day further away from my last bet, three little ducks 222 or two ballet dresses. Had my massage, it was lovely. All stress and tension gone and i smell of lavender, everyone should have a massage at least once a day then the world would be a better place. I think I was a dog in an other life, the type to always nose your hand for a stroke on the head. Got a free health check as well outside the gym, everything is spot on, cholesterol, blood pressure, diet. I've got a 2% chance of getting heart disease which is a 50-1 shot, twelve months ago I'd have thrown a tenner on that. So all good news there then. Never swam, forgot my towel which was annoying, yesterday I forgot my goggles and came out with Christopher Lee eyes, whereas last week I forgot my trunks. Totally scatty brained as usual. Today I bumped into someone and was chatting for ages, she was going on about remember this and that and how i look better without the beard yet all the while I hadn't a clue who she was. Of course I was too embarrassed to ask for her name and where we know each other from. A similar thing happened on Sunday coming out of the gym. I bumped into some woman who asked how I was doing then introduced me to her husband who knew my name as well. Again I talked to them about nothing specific for five minutes without uncovering who they were. They offered me a private tuition post which I said I'd consider so they must be in education. I seriously think all those drugs Valium, tramadol and the others I can't spell I took for my injury has wiped clean part of my brain's hard drive or I'm just getting old and muddled.

Oh I just wish to clarify a few things before I forget. I'm not by all means anti relationships. I like to think with the majority of people they work really well, offering shared love, companionship and emotional security. Yet I also believe that there are some people who for whatever reason are happiest by themselves and not in a sad way either. Of course there are times when those alone long for shared intimacy and for once I don't mean on a physical level. Yet, I'm equally certain that there are times when people in relationships long for moments of independence, at least I know I did. It's all about compromise I suppose, finding the right partner and respecting each other as individuals. If you have that then cherish it. So it'll be quite a turnaround for me to commit myself to anyone and I certainly wouldn't do it just for the sake of it, it wouldn't be fair. So there'll be no hanging round the 'meal for one' aisle in Tescos on Thursday nights or dabbling on the internet, sorry Ms. Mongolia. Love is special and if it takes a thousand lifetimes before I find the right one then I'll gladly and patiently wait that long.

That's my thought for today over with, I think that massage brought out that mushy side of me, I'm off now to watch 'Ghost' with a jumbo bag of minstrels.

Hi Steg... great to see you are well and prosperous...

Was just listening to some music, and, if a little poetical, this guitar solo is you. Had a drink so wanted to share... a little weird I guess...

Hey Jon, great to hear from you, hope you are well and that life is treating you kindly. Thanks for the link, all my mates are mad on Zappa and Dweezil too. Great guitarist.

Read an article in the newspaper on Terry Pratchett, he wore a brilliant hat and one day when I'm older I'm going to grow facial hair just like him. Seeing him again made me think of you and your quotes so it was funny when I heard from you again.

Take care Jon, pop in anytime you're always more than welcome.

Steve

Steve.

Great post re relationships,I guess your analisis is similar to our compulsion to gamble, for sure a one sided love, certainly no give and take and with out doubt no compromise!!All or nothing!!

I myself count my blessings each day,my Sarah is without doubt my best friend aswell as the women with unconditional passion I love and through my affair with all things gambling I took that to the brink too many times fella.

Just for today not a chance of that re-occuring!!!

glad you enjoyed my lads poem, sometimes his writing is so beyond his tender 18 yrs,but I hope he gets to enjoy it for life,me I live for cooking,home/work kidnapped dinner parties lol I have to get my hands dirty!!

And this is the best thing I believe we gifted our children, In life we told them do something you love to do,then life will always be a pleasure.

for me it works.

even better in the knowledge that I just for today wont be ripping the rug from underneath it!!

Duncs stepping forward never back.

'First class to Dottingham'

'Eh?'

'I said, first class to Dottingham!'

'Oh Nottingham! You need Tunes mate.'

I've got man cold. My nose is running quicker than an escaped convict. Feel shoddy, felt worse yesterday tho, hope I get better soon. Hate having a red nose, look like me mam after a Guinness. Probably caught it off that broad in the dream the other night. Going out now to buy nails with Maisie, so ill spend my evening picking them up off the floor later. Going to a party later too, should be fun. Then a toddy and off to bed, I've trained Maise to make chicken soup and toast so I'm sorted. If you never hear from me again then I've gone up in flames in a house fire, it's been a pleasure.

No gambling today, my health's more important.

Snotty Steve

Hi steve

I remember that ad very well...lol

Thank you for reading my diary...its a rich tapestry this life..lol and I always love hearing about other peoples experiences with things that I struggle with myself...I aim to get to the place you are but still have stuff to process til i let it go..

On relationships front..twosomes are not a natural state for me...fortunately my bf also is quite solitary and self contained so it feels safe for me and i dont feel pulled at and cloyed..

I enjoy a meeting of minds as lets face it meeting of genitals is pretty predictable and what happens for the remaining 23 hours and 57 minutes in a day? ...lol...jus messin.

In the words of Kate....every old sock meets an old shoe....lol

thanks again for sharing your thoughts and hope you get well soon...keep warm

R and D xx

Hi steg,

Thanks for your concern, read on here every day... not sure if its desperation or just being nosey.

Want to post... don't want to post... want to post... don't want to post... so until I am sure, I'll keep on reading.

Had a couple of slips.... 1 biggy... but only gambled twice in tje last 3 months... it's the " only" that's the problem... the binge bit.

However.... all blocks in place now... no back doors, and whilst the urges are as expected for a binger like me... ie.. not every day... not stressed about that.

Great to see you rolling on, and in some areas of your life realising you should not shun your talent... you have many.
