Day 47,
It is now 47 days since I last gambled. I have been battling this addiction for a number of years. Up to this point my addiction has had the upper hand. I am more determined than ever to come back fighting and once and for all rid myself, my wife and two young children of gambling and the dire consequences it causes to those dearest to me.
I have been a frequent visitor to these boards over the past few years. My attempts at recovery have varied in length but ultimately have proven to be futile. No more!
I will be 40 next year. The whole of my thirties have been tarnished by gambling. I am determined that my forties will not suffer the same torture.
I can and will beat this. I am going to join the 90 day thread, checking in every Friday to chart my progress.
With my very best wishes to you all.
Dave
Hi Dave
Well done mate on going 47 days. I see you have a few threads. I'm gonna have a read at them tonight as this is my first real attempt at stopping. I've lasted 73 days but I know there is always challenges ahead. It's great you have come back to the forum. Great people on here very helpful.
Good luck
Hi Jamie,
Thanks very much for your message. It really is appreciated. 🙂 73 days is fantastic! Keep up the great work. Keep on moving forward. Trust me, a gambling free life is so much better than one focused around gambling.
Best wishes
Dave

Hi all,
Reading GT's post got me thinking about my best previous attempt at quitting gambling. Reading my old threads, it turns out that it was 166 days. It is a long way off at the moment but I am determined to beat it into oblivion! One day at a time.
