Well done Adam.  My 9 year old great niece told me something recently that I was really impressed with! She told me “practice makes progress”!! What a positive and motivating quote I thought and, from a 9 year old!!🩷.

Take care and enjoy the week ahead.

Heres to practise makes perfect pink!!!!! wish i could change the title to that....reallly makes sense.

Now im writing as ive still lost the same amount of weight since the start of this thread (5kgs) standing at 85 kgs this eve...... but im finally seeing that im happy with my body shape...... first time in probably all of my mid life that i am...... With the help of someone at work (a kind of personal trainer), tweaks to my diet (calorie counting) and a hell of a lot of walking.......

My body was the last achievement i was looking to achieve on this forum and i managed it.....never thought i would as ive failed soo many times....

Am i going to leave this site now? hell no? i thought about it recently as been feeling anxious lately looking at how long ive been on forum and the advice ive been giving and worrying about whether im coming accross as cocky, arragant, idiotic, know it all, type person...... but im trying to hone my adivce and not talk too much about myself and try and talk about the others on the site to try and help them.

But whats next.......

Sooo far on gamcare in order i've:

Given up drugs,

Given up smoking,

Given up drinking,

Given up gambling,

and now

Lost 5kgs and feel happy with my body shape.....

Next i want to build upper body strength and have pecks rather than man boobs......

With this in mind im going to stick with the calorie deficit......

Im going to aim to do more weights (i done a huge weight session tonight and when i got home my upper body looked a lot more toned) so im going to aim to work on it atleast every other gym session....

Im going to eat plenty of fruit  and vegatables....

Im going to stick to bolognese, pasta, jacket potatoes, porridge, weetabix, limit bread, wholemeal and whole wheat bread and pasta for slow release.......

This month there will be another step chalange so instead of burning myself out at the start of the week im going to suprise the other contenders by starting the week slowly but keeping up and build up to a huge finish over the weekend at the end to hopefully do well in it....

All the best Adam

Practise makes progress......

Today marks my 1750 day gamble free...... wow thats huge......

Now ive kept up with my steps....all going well on exercise front....work really helping with my exercise and i get paid to do it bonus....

However i have been neglecting my diet a bit..... ive been eating three slices of bread for lunch....... frozen pizzas with chips a lot......crumpets........snacks...... lots of monster munch......etc

So i thought that its fine as cheaper for food....... but ive found that i weighed myself last night and im 86.1 kgs so up 1.1kgs in two weeks......

So i immediately thought no im not having that..... so today i skipped breakfast, then hoops on two slices of toast for lunch (rather than the three slices).... no fruit or crisps......then i bought some wholemeal tortillas, pesto, tomato puree, red peppers, chorizo, cheese, jacket potatoe, and cooked a variation of a healthier pizza with jacket potato.... It was lovely....

So just weighted myself and already ive lost .5kgs...... 85.5kgs today at heaviest time of day.

So heres to what i can achieve when i put my mind to it.

adam xxx 1750 woop

@adam123 So lovely to see my young niece’s mantra at the very top of your post Adam 👌. Makes me feel very proud of her 🩷. Especially after tragically losing her Daddy last year when she was only 8 years old. 💔💙😭. I hope it continues to serve you well throughout your journey.

Take care and have a lovely week ahead.

@adam123 hi Adam.  I feel as though I am late to the party but I am glad to have read through this thread.

I'm 42 always needed to shift a few KG but nothing major.  My apparent ideal weight is 83kg according to BMI but I know this is too low.  BMI isn't that accurate. I am aiming for 86kg and toning up a bit.

Current weight is 91kg it was 95kg 2 months ago.  I went from 38" waist to a snug 34".  I decided to fast and don't eat until 3pm weekdays.  I relax over the weekend but don't go crazy.

I do drink a bit too much but work out and have a pretty active life.

My team at work are into running and fitness.  We currently have a plank challenge.  I did 2min but want to work on my core strength a bit and get it to at least 3min by the end of October.

It really gets the dopamine going after a good workout.  Far more healthy than gambling.

My BP was 140/87 way too high.  Stress and too much alcohol.  I need to get it down.

@adam123  I am trying not to get too hung up on weight as I can get a bit obsessed with the numbers.  I am still weighing in but am going more by the way my clothes fit better and feeling less bloated.  It is noce that my trousers don't leave indents on my hips that are still visible 3h after taking them off 🤣

Fasting is a great way to kick start weight loss.  I was going until 3pm but the past week I have just got too hungry and needed to eat before 12-1pm, always good to listen to your body.  I am including more protein in my diet and less bread.  Also really cut back on the sugar.  Alcohol is a work in progress and proving harder to cut back on!

Also working out is a great investment for future health.  There are so many older ones who would have such different lives if they were more active.

Nothing wrong with Doughnuts and crumpets...  It is all about moderation and balance.

Practise makes progress..... here i am on my long weekend off.....ive bought some sports trainers for the gym.....ive had steak toinght......ive been to the gym 6 days out of the last 8 and im looking to conitinue this run tomo.

Hi the bean yes its not about the weight in numbers that counts its how u look and feel but i feel the tangibleness of the weight side too helps to keep me accountable....... although i wiegh myself each day and as i fluctuate get happy and not happy days a lot........

So ill aim to weigh myself less i guess......

Tome football on tv and a healthy pizza tortilla and then an early night in prep for a new week.....

All the best adam

start of a fresh week....... feeling pretty rested after sunday sitting on couch...... went to work today and was pretty verage day didnt think i done much walking...... so was suprised when i got back and looked and had done 11500..... so pleased with that for a first second day in........done 88000 last week..... so far after two days this week im on 13000, will need to step it up again from now on.... but feeling pretty positive about lifve......i feel ive got a much better outlook on life lately i feel im maturing a great deal in a short space of time..... learning to take things i need to seriously and things i dont with a pinch of salt and not give them much time.

Loving your thread mate, although it makes me feel guilty about my lack of steps! Work gets in the way for me. Luckily the dog gets me out and about on my days off. I must make more effort to get active.

Stay strong 💪
