Keep cracking on and keep up the swimming .. I swam for my county in my teens, but now the idea of getting in a cold pool just doesn’t work for me so big respect to you .. make sure you remain stoic at next pay day and we’ll all give you a cheer!
Rich
Thank you for the posts on my diary which are greatly appreciated.
Annie... Good to see your still alongside us and committed to a gamble free future. Your 8 days away from your last bet and you know what is needed to get your freedom back. You have lived under the yoke of gambling addiction for too long. You have had enough heartache and misery and so have I. We can try a prolonged period without gambling and see how it feels. We might find we like being gamble free when we get used to it.
sjwsjw...great progress and not far off half a year gamble free. You have a great attitude and have shown courage and resilience.
I was a fool last year upon reaching 6 months gamble free, some madness came over me and I gambled. That was the cue for a few more setbacks so it's imperative for me to be always on my guard.
Brian & Rich... the likely lads who are motoring along very nicely. Both approaching 3 months gamble free which is regarded as a significant milestone in GA circles. You both have the wisdom, desire and commitment which are essential in overcoming this insidious addiction. By the way Rich swimming pools are normally 29 degrees which is definitely not cold to a hardy yorkshireman. Joking apart I do find the gym and pool very beneficial.
Hello Diary... Inspired today by Sharon reaching one year gamble free. It is my hope that I can follow her example. Today has been good, a visit to the gym earlier for a swim and tonight I enjoyed the GA meeting.
Wishing everyone in the diaries a contented, gamble free and relaxed weekend...stephen
I am glad you enjoyed the meeting Stephen, it really is inspiring to read your posts on people’s diaries, you come across with such warmth care and understanding and I really admire you for it. Hoping you remain GF for that same smilestone Sharon has reached. Scott
Hi Stephen thanks for your kind words really glad your doing well, it is inspirational when someone reaches a year and I know you’ll do it, you deserve it, a nice peaceful life x things have quieted down my end thank god just so glad I’m gf now. Lots of best wishes Stephen stay strong and gf x Lulu
Hi Stephen, well done on keeping going strong. A year gamble free is truelly inspirational and I know you can achieve it. I laughed at the thought of being under the yoke of gambling. I'm not that keen on eggs so it is a good analogy. So good that you find such fulfilment in the gym - I'm hoping the gym becomes my new addiction (wishful thinking). Take care and keep going, you're doing really well. X
Morning Stephen, thank you for posting on my diary last night. I was really touched by your kind words. I hope you have a good day my friend.
Pras

Thank you Scott, Lulu, Annie, Pras and Sharon. I appreciate your support on my diary.
I am feeling confident about my recovery. It feels like this might be the time when I can finally say goodbye and good riddance to gambling. 20 Days GF and on a mission to stay that way.
Cinema last night watching Tomb Raider which I thought was brilliant but my lady friend not overly impressed. Went for a pizza afterwards which was delicous.
Morning diary.
Feeling very sad as my cousin passed away recently and it is her funeral tomorrow.
Gamble free for 22 days. Very few thoughts of gambling but that is understandable as my friend has my bank card and I just get pocket money when I need it.
Hi Stephen really sorry to hear about your cousin, you must be feeling really s**t, so sorry. I hope funeral goes well and she gets a good goodbye. I honestly believe though that we will see our loved ones again. Take care Stephen and big hugs x Lulu
Hi Stephen so sorry to hear of your sad news, take care of yourself Sx
Hi Stephen, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you take care and keep yourself strong buddy.
Pras
Hi Stephen, Sorry for your loss mate, thinking of you at this sad time for you and your family ..... stay strong.
Thank you Lulu, Sharon, Pras and Chartom for being so kind and thoughtful.
My cousin Sue was a lovely lady and only 64 years old. I have fond memories of her which go back to when we were toddlers playing in the park.
No doubt, tomorrow will be especially heartbreaking for her siblings, children and grandchildren who will be struggling to come to terms with their loss.
Bereavement is always traumatic and highlights our own vulnerability. It reminds us that we are only here for a brief period of time and that one day we shall all move on
For me personnally, it brings home how precious our time is. So many things to live for. Why waste it on gambling which is pointless and a tragic waste of time and energy.
Glad you are keeping focussed will be thinking of you tomorrow . You are right we are all on borrowed time so let’s not waste our lives away on something so destructive to help strangers get richer and us get poorer
Affected by gambling?
