Thanks for your comments, Ade. I have measures in place for next week: I am self-excluded from all my online accounts, I am going to pay all my bills on Tuesday, including a small payment to my credit card, and I am going to leave my wallet at home all week. I am going to remove the oxygen from the small gambling flame inside me. Here's to a gamble-free day!
Day 15: no gambling today.
15 days is brilliant, get through to the end of the month and you will be all set for a gamble free December then the whole of 2012 and beyond!

Yo Pelle
Your a machine mate, keep this run going!
Your doing amazing, dont break the cycle!
However do once in a while give me a wee bit more insight into what your thinking....im nosey you see
🙂
This is going to be an important week in my recovery. Although I have reached Day 18 without gambling, I have essentially had no available money with which to gamble during this time. I will be paid tomorrow and money will be available again. However, I am determined not to gamble a penny of it. I have self-exclusions in place online and am not going near any bookies. I am going to pay my bills tomorrow without fail. It is very depressing to think that after my salary is paid into my account tomorrow, I will still have a negative balance but that's the depressing mess I've created for myself - overdrafts, loans and credit cards to feed my gambling addiction and to cover the thousands of pounds of money that I have lost this year. Here's to a gamble-free week!

Obviosuly i know what that feels like, for the last 4 months i have given away over 1150 of my wage as soon as its gone in, thats to pay all what i owe
Next month i wont have too....which will be amazing....but all i can say is if you can put up with 1 or 2 months having to pay those bills back then when you get a full pay and dont have to give it away you will love it
Bottom line is....if you do what we usually do when we have to give all our pay away (gamble before we pay our bills to make some money to live on) we will never get out of the cycle!
Good luck mate i know you can do it
Day 18: no gambling today.

I just watched this programme and would recommend watching it if you haven't already. I shows how desperate the life of a gambler can get and what lengths gamblers will go to obtain money.
I never want to go back to gambling, to lying, to borrowing and to having to sell my possessions to fund an unhealthy and expensive addiction. Each gamble-free day I complete is a day further away from my gambling past. I am heavily in debt but as long as I do not gamble again my life will improve and my debts will gradually be paid off.
Today is payday and I have money in my account. Alarm bells are ringing but I have been very organised and paid the electricity bill, the gas bill and I have also paid £250 towards my credit card thus reducing the balance to £3,250. I will do the same again next month and reduce the balance to £3,000 by Christmas. My priority for next year is to attack my personal loan. If I can overpay each month, I may be able to pay it off by the end of the year. I have had no gambling urges today. The programme I watched last night sickened me and I can't bear the thought of gambling again. Here's to a gamble-free day!
What programme did you watch Pelle?
It was a programme (drama) about a compulsive gambler who begs and steals and borrows to fund his addiction. It's still available on iPlayer. I posted a link to it on here last night.
What a productive day you have had, I just wonder how many other people (including non-gamblers) would have done all this straight away.
One thing that really is coming from all this recovery lark is just how good we are going to be with money when we are debt free!
It is also vital to remember how easy it will be just to throw it all away again though - I know, as I was in that unfortunate position a few years ago... 🙁
Stay very strong and stay very positive, your next payday will come soon enough!
