Hi guys

Paul is back.....again.

Cut a long story short, had a few attempts at giving up gambling, crashed and burnt and now I am here once more.

I know this is the place where you get help and support so I wanted to notch a few days under my belt before posting, as I didn't want anyone wasting their efforts in writing on my diary only for me to let them and myself down - I am on day 36 gamble free.

As you can read from my diary's title things are different this time, I do not want to even think about gambling, WHY? Well my vice was FOBT's and nothing else, always wanted to hit a number with the maximum on. On the 03-01-2016, number 32 came out on the roulette machine and I had the maximum on number 23 - it came out twice. Nearly a £1000 and I still went home DOWN!

It was plain to me that day no matter what I did the FOBT's will always win and also there was nothing else for me to conquer as I did what I alway wanted to do and that is to hit a number with the the maximum.

Paul

Well something is certainly different, over 5 weeks and I find the idea of gambling repulsive. I have been here before but I feel like this after a big loss and when the pain has gone away in a few days I start gambling again.

I shall see how this is going to play out - maybe I have just grown up!

Hi Paul.

Soo pleased to see you seeing things differently, and do you know what:)) I know it's an addiction, but a bit of the changing process is to do with growing up:))

Keep going forwards, and keep winning my friend.

I couldn't agree more Alan, I think I have grown up and the penny has finally dropped.

Gosh, I was a £100 spin guy, now even £20 is a lot for me.

Well guys, I am still in there and not gambling.

Really strange, I have no desire to participate in gambling whatsoever, the only thing I can put it down to is my only thing was FOBT's and having hit the maximum on one number twice in a row and still come away losing, has forced me to come to the conclusion that I will never beat the FOBT's.

Paul

Fella we live by a mantra

I CANNOT WIN BECAUSE I CANNOT STOP

I devoted many years to feeding my addiction through the medium of the fobt, the outcome the same, all that happened is I went from spinning a few pounds a time to the eventual £100 maximum.

I was chasing what?

A jackpot of a monkey, 500 notes wouldn't even plug a finger in the damm of debt I self created, my friend I gambled relentlessly for over twenty years, starting with fruit machines and ending with fobt's

If any sane person had stood and recorded my life, it would have been plain to see that I gambled purely for escape.

As for the 500 pound dream breaker I today see them for just that.

Oddly I spent champagne money to live a lemonade lifestyle.

For the compulsive gambler, gambling truly is a waste of time.

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back.
