So.. This is my first post here and I'm starting on a high.. I'm giving up Gambling.
A little about me, I'm 22 and started when I was 17. l*******s let me in under age for a whole year. I stopped going in the shops at about 19 and went online! Wish I didn't, at least the shops close, the Internet doesn't.
To date I've lost at least £50,000. That's just ridiculous and I feel sick looking at that number.
Today I feel good, I've self excluded from everything, I've raked through my emails to find anyone who offered me 'free spins' or 'free bets' and excluded myself.
Today is day one, I'm skint at the moment (gambled my salary) and in a little bit of debt but I'm going to get through it and this time next year I will be debt free and more importantly 365 days gambling free.
I will aim to keep posting here as often and possible and your support will be great.
Good luck.
Hello James and welcome to the forum.
Well done on self excluding. Great first step. You could also download blocking software or contact your internet provider to get gambling sites blocked. You can find out more at our website http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do.
Keep coming back - perhaps even start a recovery diary? The more you post, the more you'll get out of being a member of this forum. We ook forward to your 365th gamble-free day!
Take care,
