Day 503

Not much going on... it is 1 year today since I stopped smoking... my life seems to be all about trying to control myself. Anyway all is good am positive that I couldn't give up smoking whilst gambling so all in all a job well done. Still paying some debts but not smoking makes it more managable.

Watching the snooker Marco Fu looking awesome.

Cheers, Jim

Day 512

Thanks ands, I loved my ciggys too - but don't miss them now, I smoked even longer than I gambled. But you have to have some vices! Glad to read you are ok.

No thoughts of gambling, just working my a55 off really, feel pretty positive though not having gambled at all in 2010 makes me feel really good, I never thought I would get my self out of the mess I was in.

Never ever again, I still remember how bad it feels to spend everything and more, lie, borrow and lie. Never ever again.

I am gonna carry on working now that I have had a little rant. Bring on the weekend.

Cheers, Jim

Day 524

Thanks for your post guys - some support is needed now and then.

Went in a Casino on Friday, blasted drunk after the Rugby but I didn't gamble sorely tempted mind you.... which was bit suprising as I didn't think I would be anymore. Dont mean to make excuses but I took some customers to see Wales England and they wanted to go in, so I wasn't going to say no - just didn't expect to get the urge.

I didn't gamble and wont be going there again.

All the best.

Jim

If you can be tempted Jim, it just goes to show that none of us can ever get complacent. It just takes one slip and we can easily fall back into our ways--I know because I was a case in point last September.

Glad to see that you resisted all temptation and have recognised that the casino is not a place that you will be visiting again.

Well done for not gambling

All the best

Hi Dazzler,

Yes the passage of time doesn't mean that you can't slip back into gambling. I am an example of that, once got to 1000 and something days gambling free and then gambled again like the time in between hadn't happened. Stay well clear of the casino.. all the best.. S.A

Day 529

Thanks for the posts, I won't be going near any casinos. Feel pretty good, I haven't thought about gambling all week - which has got to be a good thing.

I am looking forward to another gambling free weekend.

I hope the sun comes out.

Cheers, Jim

Hi Jim

Awesome!!! 529 days......gives the rest of us hope that it can be done!!.....I read what you wrote on fri 4th sept saying 'you wonder if everyone feels that gut wrenching sickly feeling'....I think the answer is a definite yes....I certainly do....and if posting on here every day stops it from ever coming back....its gotta be worth it.

Well done again Jim (but hoping the sun comes out is a litlte too optimistic I reckon!!)
