Set your clock of GF days back to zero. Chips or money you've gambled, be honest. You buy £1.49p worth of chips or £3.99 worth of chips doesn't make it better than walking into a casino & staking £1000. Gambling is gambling. Learn the lessons of complacency & put them into practice. Recovery is a long hard journey .Seek support before the situation gets worse.

Hi Adam,

Your recent post gave mention as to why you should remain gf and why you should not reset your day count.

Like many of your posts this relates to a measurable and task based objectivity whether it be weight, finances, gambling etc.

I adhere to this process also but i also find i struggle if something goes wrong or astray.

You and i have been here for many years and i will always be honest. In essence you have gambled which firstly to admit this takes great credit. Perhaps a re focus as to why it happened and build those blocks again ever higher.

Resetting goals is an achievable option for you but i will say "cut yourself some slack"

I wish you well

Best

Evening diary,

I've now caught up on my sleep (slept 13 hours sunday night, 2 hours after work monday night, then 11 hours monday night) fully recharged again and had a great couple of days at work.....

I watched an amazing game of football tonight with liverpool real madrid..... will watch more games this week....

Going to spend this weekend spring cleaning my flat (going to mop all floors, hoover, change linen, scrub bath sinks etc give it an all over dust and maybe spend time in garden on sunday should weather be nice).

Im working the following weekend.

All in all it was a lesson learnt last weekend..... i hadnt played free chip poker for a long time and got very excited by the endorpihns no doubt and couldnt stop purchasing the chips (i however had no way of cashing in these chips for money so i cant see how this can be remotely considered gambling as its not wagering of any kind).

You may disagree but this is my diary, my recovery, my day count so ill be keeping my day count as if i thought it was gambling of any kind i no doubt wouldnt have played at all!!!!!

So im still on day over 1100 and have learnt a lesson and scratched an itch an altho i spent 60 pounds i have learnt a lot in just one day......

I've uninstalled the apps and wont play again as i cant control the playing time or spending.....

All the best adam

Purchasing Play Money is not considered to be Real Money balance. When you perform this purchase, you are buying play money chips, which is not related to real money play or funds in any way. If you want to play for real money, you can either make a deposit via the Cashier or get money via a player transfer from a friend.

This is the statement on pokerstars website....

Dear Forum Users,

This is just a kind reminder that everyone's recovery is an individual matter, and we should be respectful of everyone's interpretation of their actions / how people in recovery would like to count their GF days.

We do appreciate that the points you have made about what counts as gambling and what does not, comes from the concern and being mindful certain activities can be triggering for the person.

Please be mindful of the language you use and please try not to be forceful in imposing your views and interpretation on other people. You are more than welcome to present your views and gently challenge the views of other people, but ordering people what to do will not be encouraged on this Forum.

In case you have any questions about this, please feel free to email Forum Admin – @gamcare.org.uk">forum.admin@gamcare.org.uk for individual discussions, but we hope we can move on from this issue and continue to be supportive, understanding and respecting one another.

Kind Regards,

Forum Admin
