A great achievement, well done Mixer on 90 days. You've been paying it forward on most of those 90 days too and I hope its helped you break the 'habit' of gambling. I think gambling is more than just a habit for us cg's but that is one element of it...

I hope all goes well for you over the next week. Medical tests can be a v stressful time. Wishing you all the best for a positive outcome 🙂

PS. I've not had time to write a review of Justin larcombe's book yet (as promised in chat one night a few moons back) but I've not forgotten! I want to read it again before making my mind up :))

Thanks for posting on my diary Mixer. Enjoyed your youtube link, Idina really got the audience moving.

Really impressed with your Sunday Rollcall on the Guru Challenge, great to see friends working together and overcoming the urges to gamble.

Wishing you a good week ...stephen

Thank you Velvet, 4D for your kind words.I had my scans yesterday and await my results. Meantime, I'm on Day 98 yet strangely 'unexcited' by my impending Day 100. That's because there's a slight sadness that I'm compelled to do this, but know, deep down it's the only choice I have. It's the only choice we all have.

I'm glad that you are both keeping good gambling free counts going, this is forever, we all know that, and it's good we're all sharing a similar journey 🙂

Thanks again 4D, Velvet and - keep going 🙂

Hi Mixer, I hope everything went well with the scans, got my fingers crossed for you.

Wow 98 days...what a fantastic achievement. I understand that feeling to a degree. I think you just have to view it as a huge victory even if it doesn't feel like it...just like Day 30, and 50 were. Each day is another day gamble free.

Take care.

Hi Mixer,

A difficult time for you which I can understand. Hang in there mate. You have been a guiding light and inspiration to quite a few including me, so I will leave a few words here tonight to reach out to you. You are not excited on 98 days and this may be down to other things going on which is OK. You can celebrate later. But do not feel a sadness about 'forever' and 'compelled'. I have felt this and in my case, this is the sadness of my gambling head, trying to tempt me back. Remember this is also a choice, your choice not to gamble, just for today.
Personally I will also leave you with another thought which is: look how many you have helped on the challenge! And that is a Mixer on sub-100 days! I do wonder what a Mixer who is on 100+, 200 or even more might be like!!! I am curious to find out! I wonder what he would say to you on 98 days?
Stay strong my friend.

Thank you very much for your kind words 4D which have genuinely inspired me. You are right - I have a choice, no matter what, and have decided to use logic and what's genuinely for the best for me, and my family, in order to make what I consider the right choice. You have raised an important point; there is always a choice.

It is a real pleasure to help people with the challenge and I do it, like so many of us, including your good self and so many others, because we care not only about how we deal with this, but others in the same boat as us, too. All gloriously unconditionally, too. I will never, like all of us, 'reveal' who I am, because that's the point. We're all in this together; who we are doesn't matter, but are still friends bonded by a common cause, a united intention of living a better life. That'll do 🙂

So thank you. I will continue, resolved as ever, with extra oooomph, as I guide past that 100 day barrier, as I must, and will. And, in due course, you too, 4D! We're all in this together, and, because it has to be a lifetime (logically, and for the best) I like to think we will be kindred spirits for some time to come.

Congratulations for hitting your Century, Mixer.

You came so close to doing so last time but this time you’ve shown who’s the boss by sticking two fingers up to the gambling devil and given yourself the best possible chance of a positive future.

Wishing you well buddy.
