Every month I get paid I have to rush to transfer money to my partners account so I can have a little savings, I quickly pay my bills and then I rush to the cash point to take out the £300 limit before I get the urge to play online slots. I have been doing this since I can remember and it is distroying my life! I want to be like normal people and be able to leave money in my bank. I asked the bank if they can give me a cash card instead but they said I have to pay the £750 overdraft back first which is hard to do as if I leave cash in my bank I will gamble with it! As if this isn't bad enough I recently discovered that you can play online slots by jadding it to my phone bill! I have an amazing gf but feel too ashamed to tell her as I don't want her to know how perfetic I am. I try to keep myself busy but then I snap and will grab my phone and start gambling!

I'm just off into work it's only s quick comment.

Well done for trying to something about it. I know you can gamble on your phone but not sure if you can speak with your provider to stop this being possible or maybe go on PAYG.

What you can do about your bank card is report it lost and when the new card comes get your partner to scratch of the last 3 numbers on the back that way it can't be used for online purchases.

Keep reading on here and post how you are doing good or bad it helps.

Hi Dark Angel

Well done on getting to 10 days gamble free! This is just to let you know that there are a few more things you can do to make it a bit easier. You can install blocking software on your phone and laptop: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/blocking-software

As Oldhamktf says, you can get new cards and give them straight to your partner so she can scratch off the numbers on the back. You could even get a basic bank account with no debit card and no overdraft.

And we offer free counselling both in person and online - just give us a call on 0808 8020 133 or contact us on the Netline. There's a link at the top of this page.

Very best of success with your recovery.
