Hi wp, glad to see that you are getting some access. It been f@cking tough for you and a really difficult ride. You've dealt with it so well. Hopefully more access will come in time. Keep you the fight. Russ

As always many thanks to friends russ, leedso, shiny and the captain.

4 YEARS AGO TODAY i hit that all time low.

i have since picked myself up and day by day grew stronger to fight the urge to gamble.these urges will always be there and i set myself the same targets as everyone else on here not to have that daily gamble.

urges are never far away but that day 14th DECEMBER 09 was a big turning point in my life.from that day forward i have fought them demons and believe me it hasnt been an easy ride.the temptation to have that 1st punt is and ALWAYS will be there.

there is no doubting how difficult it has been,i still have my last betting slip in my wallet to remind me of that dark day,to remind me i am only one bet away from disaster.

that betting slip has no ink left on it and has faded away like my gambling dreams once were.

many thanks to ALL who have contributed to help and follow my progress especially those still on here since my early days.

its been a helluva struggle, nobody said it was/is easy but id like to think im in a far better position today than that soul destroying day 4 YEARS AGO.

today i wont bet tomorrow i wont bet, onwards to year 5 i hopefully march.

keep fighting friends, this can be done.

best wishes to you all for christmas and new year, hopefully we can ALL remain gamble free.

W.P

Fella I simply salute you.

A huge achievement something to be very proud of, proof that abstinence can be maintained.

With great humility too.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Four years...and all that in the grim north! 😉

It's great to see that you still swing by, and I remember back in the early days for me that you were already a seasoned campaigner on the route to getting here. You're an inspiration, hope you keep popping your head round the door from time to time.

All the best

Ryan

Great progress wp. You gave me a lot of advice in the past and asked me more than once 'when will the penny drop?' well I know you meant realising I had to give up gambling full stop but for me the penny dropped this year when I became able to live without random gambling and this Friday it will be 6 months of only affordable football and golf bets with nothing out of control and long may it continue.

Great that you still stop by on occasion and plenty others could benefit from reading your diary and following your advice.

Hi wp

Shifting your diary to Page 1 to make it more visible to newcomers.

I also want to thank you for all the support and advice you provided to me. You told me a few home truths which I didn't agree and appreciate at the time and we exchanged words a few times but I appreciate what you meant a lot more now.

I have tried telling others home truths like you did with me and it has not gone down well. I hope they come to appreciate my support at a future point in the same way that I have with you.

Best wishes

Captain46
