As of right now, it's been 26 hours since my last gamble. I was heavily addicted to online blackjack and have been for 8 years. I have spent 8 years in debt and depression and today is the first day i am proud to say I haven't gambled!

I never admitted until yesterday that I had a problem even though I would bet all my wages every month. I was playing with a £50 deposit, got up to 2700 I was so happy I withdrew it instantly! Within an hour I reversed the withdrawal and lost it all and another £1200 of my own money. I have always said "one more go" until I had nothing left. I was in constant agony with myself for this but yesterday I made the move and admitted I was an addict.

I went into all my online accounts, self excluded for 5 years, I phoned up my internet and phone providers and blocked all access to gambling websites and contacted my bank to block any gambling transactions. I also phoned gamcare helpline and had a good long chat which greatly helped.

Every hour atleast once today I have wanted to bet but I havent done it and I'm so proud of myself for finally making the first steps!!

It is very upsetting knowing I am never play blackjack again but that's the sacrifice i have to make to be free and have a happy future!

I will keep you informed of how I do but so far it's one day at a time!

Good Start Jim!

Looks like you have some good measures in place - stay positive and keep going aiming to only do one thing each day - stay gamble free for that day only 🙂

I know that feeling as anyone else would think £2650 think of what you could buy with that. I turned £20 into over £2k once withrew and started planning my macbook purchase on Apple, had it all lined up, and then thought ill just reverse a few hundred and see if I can get a bit more d**n lost another £300 and ill still have £1500 for my macbook, half an hour later all gone, then the macbook dream gone and CC out the wallet. The mind of a CG, when winning makes no sense, its the playing the rush of winning, and when your in this mindet its very dangerous and Casinos love it when your on that slide. very dangerous. Stop Gambling Jim. Good Luck.
