Hi Darren

Thanks for the post on my diary. I am really happy to read about the positives in your life. Getting your family back is amazing, now go and make them proud and never gamble again.

Keep going, stay strong and the rest will all fall into place.

Matt

Not posted on my diary for nearly 2 weeks but thanks to those who have commented, I haven't gone missing I've still being checking in on the 2017 Challenge and reading and commenting on other people's posts, I still get a lot and it gives me the reality check I need when I'm reading others stories and reminding myself just how bad things were when I was gambling and this is a place I don't want to go to again, things are still going ok and I'm still GF which is my number 1 priority !! Things are going good on the home front with the wife and kids, we had a day away shopping and have being out for a couple of meals during the Easter holidays, we are even trying to see if we can squeeze a weeks holiday in somewhere during the summer holidays, this is something I thought would never of happened going back a month or so and will be only manageable if I take it one day at a time and stay GF !

Cheers

Darren

Hi All

Just an update as to how things are going. Life is good at the moment due to NO gambling in my life, can honestly say gambling hasn't come into my brain yet since the last time I gambled some 136 days ago but I know I'm only 1 day away from gambling and have to keep my guard up to make sure I don't gamble as life is so much better when we don't gamble !! We have managed to book a weeks holiday in July for myself, my wife and the youngest lad some thing I thought would never happen in the early part of the year whilst I was living apart from my wife and boys due to gambling and something that we are all looking forward to very much. I am off to my GA meeting tonight at Preston and always look forward to catching up with everyone at these meetings and next week sees the last of my councilling sessions through Gamcare which I have got a tremendous amount from and which has helped me very much to get answers as to why I gambled like I did !!

It's easy to fall back into the gambling world and something I don't want to do and intend to try my hardest to stay GF !!

"It's good to talk and take it one day at a time"

Hi All

Not posted for a month or so but the main thing is that I'm still GF and to be honest still not had any thoughts of gambling which is good considering it's around us 24/7 nowadays. Been a busy month for me with work being at the forefront of it, finished my councilling sessions which I found very helpful to enlighten me as to what I gambled like I did and still attending my GA meetings which are also very helpful. Just over 4weeks till we have our family holiday and something I didn't see happening at the beginning of the year and whilst I was gambling, but we are all looking forward to it very much and these are the types of things we can all do when we don't gamble and channel our energy into other things.

Cheers

Darren

Hi Darren,

First bumped into you on these forums when you commented on one of my first thread a couple of months ago.

I have to admit I've only just came across your diary but can I just say it's made my night. Was heartbreaking to hear your story and the fact it even got to the point of you leaving the family home but to hear that you're back living with your wife and kids is absolutely fantastic. Couldn't be happier for you!

Well done on going this long without a bet and long may it continue.

All the best, Shaun.

Hi All not updated my diary in a good few weeks so thought I would share with you all how things are going ! Most importantly I am still GF, 229 Days to be exact, something I thought I would not get to after being caught out last December. Life's good at the moment we had our week away on holiday some 3 weeks ago now and I must say it was very good getting away with my wife and the youngest and just what we all needed albeit went very quick ! Still not had any thought of gambling but know it can be just round the corner if i switch off. I still attend my GA meetings at Preston and Carlisle when my shifts allow. On the home front it's always good to be around my wife and kids unlike those 3 months when I was living on my own. Like I said earlier life is good because I'm not gambling but we do have days on the home front when things are brought to the forefront again about gambling and all the lies which I can totally understand and know that it won't mend its self over night and it's all about talking and being honest so we can work things out and lead us to all have a better life in the future ! Busy at home doing a few jobs round the house on my days off so keeping myself occupied and not giving myself any reason to gamble. I still get on these forums and read people's story's and remember where I was once and don't want to go back down that road. I promise I won't leave it so long to update my diary next time.

Cheers

Darren
