Thanks Lou. Day 20 now. I’m determined, not going to say ‘beat it’ as I know that’s impossible... but determined to save my marriage and live a happy life. Christmas is paid for, looking forward to having a great time with family. Hope you are keeping well.Â
22 days GF now... reading stories and diaries on here, along with some CBT is helping. One other thing I’ve found helpful is Russel Brand’s audio book Recovery, it might not work for everyone but has helped me.Â
You do whatever works for you to move forward in your recovery. Things are working for you, keep it going keep barriers up live gamble free and don't forget to be kind to yourself. You're working hard at this, well done
Thanks Charlieboy, I hope you are keeping well also. Taking it one day at a time, all I can do. My wife has my bank card and full control of finances, determined to beat this.Â
Day 24 GF.Â
Day 25 GF, hope everyone is keeping safe in this crazy world we are in right now...
Day 26 GF.Â
Day 28 Gamble free, it feels great having money, not worrying about having to buy gifts last minute (if I get a win), I’m not relying on my wife having to go out and  buy all the gifts, I went this year. We are done for Xmas, she has been a diamond and I know it will take forever to win her trust back but I’ll work on that a day at a time.Â
have a great Xmas everyone.Â
30 days GF! 1 month GF, can’t believe I am actually writing those words! I owe everything to my wife, when I opened up about the issues that I had, she has been an absolute rock. I couldn’t have done it with out her. Next step 2 months gamble free. Hope everyone had a great Xmas.Â
Dear @darkpassenger2020,
huge congratulations on one month gamble free! So pleased to hear the relief and pride in your post. And also pleased to hear your wife is being supportive, I can imagine this is great motivation to carry on on your recovery journey.
Keep sharing and posting and keep up the good work.
Â
All the very best and a Merry Christmas to you and yours,

You're doing good. Set your targets small and achievable, keep barriers firmly up, stay honest and truthful with your wife. Your reward for you and your wife is staying gamble free, never let the addiction close again. Read your first post often to see how far you've come and as a healthy reminder what going back would do. Keep going I'm pleased for you.
33 days in now GF, and I feel like I’m getting some of my life back on track. I’m happy again, enjoying time with my family and determined to continue this. Have a great evening all.Â
36 days GF now, first aim is 2 months. Happy new year everyone.Â
Dear Darkpassenger2020

42 days GF now. The time has flown by. So glad to be trying to getting top of this. It feels so weird being so close to another payday and still have funds in my bank and being in a comfortable financial position and not wanting to gamble it away & I must say it is because I’ve handed my finances over to my wife. I am in no way ‘fixed’ but I’m trying my best each day.Â
stay safe all
